Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Thomas spent three seasons with the Dolphins after being drafted by the team in the second round of the 2011 draft, rushing for a total of 1,312 yards and eight touchdowns. He was cut after this preseason, however, clearly not stacking up to either Moreno or Lamar Miller.
Now, his role will likely to be the third-string back for the team, as Moreno is expected to be out for as much as two months, per Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald:
"Knowshon Moreno suffered a dislocated left shoulder and possible fracture that will keep him out of the lineup at least four weeks but up to eight weeks if there is a serious fracture, a source told The Herald Sunday.
Moreno, the Dolphins running back, injured himself on his first carry of the game.
"
That news was pretty devastating after a difficult loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. After, head coach Joe Philbin was quick to lay the blame at everyone's feet, including his own, per the team's Twitter account:
Miller should hold down the starting role while Damien Williams holds down the backup role. In Week 2, Miller finished with 53 yards from scrimmage on 13 touches, while Williams was given five carries and rushed for 19 yards.
Still, Thomas could see the field as soon as Week 3, as Miller himself is dealing with an injury after leaving Sunday's game with an ankle injury. That didn't appear to be terribly serious—a team source told Jackson that Miller could have returned to the game on Sunday—but it will be interesting to see how much of a workload the Dolphins trust him with this week against the Kansas City Chiefs.
For the time being, Thomas has no fantasy value, as a healthy Miller will get the lion's share of the snaps and touches in Miami's backfield. But given his familiarity in this offense and the sudden injury woes at the position, it wouldn't be shocking to see him get some playing time at some point while Moreno is out of action, either.
Hit me up on Twitter—I'll answer your fantasy questions and make some corny jokes too. It's more fun than calling a timeout right before a game-tying touchdown.
