Robert Quinn, Rams Agree on New Contract: Latest Details, Comments, Reaction
Robert Quinn was an absolute terror for opposing offenses during the 2013 NFL season, and the St. Louis Rams have richly rewarded him for his efforts.
The team and the defensive lineman agreed to a contract extension Saturday, according to the Rams' official Twitter feed:

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported the news:
Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported more details on Quinn's deal:
Quinn led the Rams with a head-turning 19 sacks a year ago, which was second in the NFL behind only Robert Mathis of the Indianapolis Colts. Quinn also forced seven fumbles and was a one-man wrecking crew for opposing quarterbacks.

However, his 2014 campaign got off to a quiet start in the season-opening loss to the Minnesota Vikings, as he only notched two tackles and missed out on a sack. Vikings play-by-play man Paul Allen of KFAN noted that containing Quinn was definitely in Minnesota's game plan:
If Quinn is going to draw that type of attention from opposing offenses, it should open up the rest of the defense and linebackers to make plays moving forward. Even if he isn’t making tangible contributions in the box score, he is clearly impacting the game for the Rams.

Quinn was a first-round draft pick out of North Carolina in the same 2011 draft class that included J.J. Watt. Earlier this year, Watt signed a record deal for a defensive player—a reported $100 million and $51.87 million signing bonus—which likely helped Quinn’s negotiating position on his extension.
It’s definitely a good time to be a dominant and young defensive lineman.

Quinn even believes that he can challenge Michael Strahan’s record of 22.5 sacks in a single season, via Randy Covitz of The Kansas City Star: “I’m sure any D-lineman or anybody going for sacks wants to take down that record, but you have to go one sack at a time.”
Perhaps the scariest thing about Quinn for opposing offenses is his age. At only 25 years old, the stud defensive end should have a number of productive years ahead, barring injury.
With aggressive defensive coordinator Gregg Williams calling the shots in St. Louis, look for Quinn to rack up impressive sack totals for years to come. He will certainly earn that new money.
