Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com has the latest update on Jake Matthews ahead of Thursday's game against the Bucs:
Matthews spoke about going through a full practice via McClure:
"I hope that I can. We'll see what the coaches allow me to do. But I'm going to go out there and do some stuff, so we'll see how it goes.

I'm feeling better. They're doing a really good job with treatments and all that stuff to get me back as soon as possible. It's feeling better every day. I'm excited to see how this week goes for the game. I know they're going to do a good job and get me taped up and ready for the game.

Updates from Wednesday, Sept. 10
Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reported on Jake Matthews from Falcons practice:
"Atlanta Falcons rookie left tackle Jake Matthews, who injured his left ankle in the season opener, was not on the field as the team began Wednesday's practice.
Matthews underwent an MRI on Monday, and such examinations involving the ankle typically indicate a high sprain. Such an injury usually takes about four to six weeks to completely heal, so it would be a shock to see Matthews play at Cincinnati this Sunday. The Falcons then have a Thursday night game against Tampa Bay Sept. 18, which might be a too quick a turnaround as well for Matthews.
"
Updates from Monday, Sept. 8
Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported on Jake Matthews' MRI:
Earlier, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com updated Matthews' condition following his injury yesterday:
"Atlanta Falcons rookie offensive tackle Jake Matthews is to have an MRI on his left ankle Monday, according to a league source.
(...)
'No, I don't have any word,' Smith said of Matthews immediately after the game. 'He wasn't able to return to the game. That will be something that over the next couple of days, we will be able to update you guys on. Probably Wednesday.'
According to a medical source familiar with NFL team protocol, MRIs of the ankle are typical following a high-ankle sprain. Such an injury can be a 4-to-6 week recovery, the source said. But that doesn’t mean Matthews will fall under the same timetable. The Atlanta Falcons are in the midst of battling the New Orleans Saints, but they are now dealing with a key injury to the offensive line.

According to NFL.com, rookie tackle Jake Matthews is out with an ankle injury:
Following the game, Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports reported that Matthews has an ankle sprain:
The former Texas A&M star was the No. 6 overall pick of the 2014 draft and was expected to make a big impact in his first year for one of the worst units in the league last season. He earned the starting left tackle job, but the latest injury could be a setback for the young player.
Gabe Carimi will likely get more playing time in the tackle's absence.
