My Second Half Predictions For The World Series

andy mungerJul 13, 2009

Its the half way mark in baseball and there is a world series match up I want to see and then there is one I expect to see. So far this season has been pretty dull. Usually the first half of baseball is, but what stands out to me is the year Albert Pujols is having. He put up numbers in the first half that most players would consider a career year. I hope the St Louis cardinals win the central and take the national league crown. A St Louis and Chicago White Sox series is always been one of my sports fantasies. I think both teams have underplayed this year and are in good position to have a better second half and really dominate.
Milwaukee and the Cubs will be dropping in the second half. I don't know what other team in the central will step up. In the American league central I expect the Tigers to falter. The Indians and Royals are through and the only team that scares me is the Minnesota Twins. I really don't care for any teams out East as the top teams are the usual ones who buy free agents to dominate their divisions. I root for the rays, but as far as the other teams out east i could care less. The Blue jays have really disappointed me after their fast start. I don't think the Phillies will repeat anything this year.
What I think most likely will happen instead of my annual wish for a Cardinal-White Sox series is an all Los Angelas world Series. the Dodgers have played incredible ball all year, and the Angels of Anaheim are always at the top. Anytime a team makes the playoiffs as often as the Angels their number to make it is due to come up again. The Los Angelas area will likely have an all LA world series, although the Angels actually play in Anaheim..well you know. I guess it would be a city series oif some..sort.
