Pepsi's Clutch Hit Keeps Lowell Spinners Sell-Out Streak Alive
The Lowell Spinners, Class-A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, have sold out every home game they have played for the past decade. And thanks to the generosity of their corporate partner, Pepsi, the streak is no longer in danger of coming to an end next week.
Prior to Pepsi's clutch hit, the Spinners had roughly 2,000 tickets remaining for the upcoming three-game home stand against the Tri-City ValleyCats. The team put on a concerted push and sold several hundred tickets. As the clock ticked down on the sell-out streak, Pepsi stepped to the plate and hit one long and deep.

The streak, which dates back to Aug. 2, 1999, a span of over 350 games, was kept alive as Pepsi purchased the remaining tickets to be donated to local Boys and Girls Clubs and children oriented charities throughout the Merrimack Valley.
The Spinners have decide to make the upcoming series against Tri-City, the Spinners Kids Club week, presented by Pepsi.
"Pepsi has been a loyal supporter of the Spinners from day one," said Spinners Vice President and General Manager Tim Bawmann. "They continue to step up to the plate to contribute to not only the success of the organization but to people of need in the Merrimack Valley."
The tickets will be distributed to groups across the Merrimack Valley and surrounding communities, and all children who attend a game will become members of the Spinners Kids Club, complimentary to all children who want to join.
As members of kids club, members will be eligible for discounted baseball camp rates, reserved spots in the Spinners Community Reading Programs, job shadow opportunities and on-site family entertainment.
"To give kids and families who may not have otherwise been able to attend a game this summer or partake in some of our unique Spinnertainment and the opportunity to enjoy a night of fun is a real testament to the generosity of our friends at Pepsi," said Bawmann.
Tickets remain available to other Spinners 2009 home games by contacting the Spinners Box Office at 978-459-1702 or 24/7 at LowellSpinners.com.
