After their one day break the Milwaukee Brewers came out and continued their recent struggles. They just don’t seem to have what it takes to bring home the runs. The inconsistency continues to haunt them. The Crew dropped the first game 5-0 to the Cardinals. Four of the runs came via home runs including a three run first inning dinger. Dale Sveum and Willie Randolph had short nights also after arguing check-swing calls and being ejected in the 2nd and 3rd innings. the loss puts the brewers two games back of first. But doesn’t it feel like their so lost that it may as well be 20?

A slew of Ryan Braun vs. Doug Melvin material popped up overnight. And I’ll share a few with you, Including this beauty! I cannot wait to order my Deputy #8 jersey! Click here pleeeease.

Next up, Madison.com has the first story in the apology and states that it was all a misunderstanding. Ryan Braun had the following remarks, read the whole bit here.

"

“That being said, me and Doug are cool, everything’s good. I have no issues with anybody. I apologize if I offended anybody in the organization. That clearly wasn’t my intent. I wasn’t trying to disrespect anybody, wasn’t trying to call anybody out.”

"

And now on to who’s right and who’s wrong! the Green Bay Press Gazette is backing Ryan Braun. Headlining, “Melvin can’t handle the truth,” they go on to call Braun “refreshing” and point out that Braun had no malcontent when he came out with his rant. Read here.

And while Dan O’Donnell of 620 WTMJ also agrees that Braunie was right, he also was wrong. And I quote, “It was inappropriate for him to say what he said, and I’m not happy about it,” General Manager Doug Melvin stated.  “To make the statements he made and also get on his teammates like that, it was irresponsible on his part. It just ticked me off.” Continue

While one blogger, Richard Steinberg, stresses that people need to chill out. There’s a lot of season left and the Brewers are, after all, only two games back. He states, “We are not even at the All-Star break and the press will have you believe that our team has caved in.” I partially agree, but the Crew definitely cannot stand pat. Read here.

And the following image courtesy of Right Field Bleachers who want to point out to Deputy Braun that it could be worse. Read here.

And finally, in other news, it’s official that Manny Parra on his way back and will be rtarting Thursday. Manny Parra put together a few decent starts in AAA but also had a rough start. At this point though, Seth Mcclung needed to go back to the pen. McClung has, Parra will be called up and placed back in the rotation. Read Quevedo at the Buffett.

Sheboygan Press’ own sports editor Pete Barth, a good friend of mine, makes it clear that he wants the Brewers to go after Toronto’s Roy Halladay. He has some interesting thoughts, take a gander.

And it appears that Doug Melvin Open to Halladay. But really, how likely is it that he would trade Gamel or Escobar? I wish that the Crew could get a deal done without having to sacrifice one of the two, but we’ll see if that happens. Melvin is trying to be realistic. Read now!

Michael Hunt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel blogged his thoughts and he wants and hopes that a  deal gets done. As with me, he see’s that it would be a tough season to finish with the roster as is. Check it out.

Rambling Al notes that Joe Koshansky has been removed from 40-Man roster. He wonders if this is in part to be for a trade. Possibly, I’m not sure how it’d help, but time will tell. Check it out.

And continuing from yesterday’s news that the Stars attendance is becoming a problem, they are now looking into ways to try to bump up attendance. They definitely want to keep the affiliation. Keep checking back on that. Read here for now though.
