WWE Battleground 2014: Craziest Spots from Latest PPV Event
WWE's recent edition of Battleground was far from their greatest pay-per-view effort, it has to be said.
There were plenty of moments and plenty of matches that failed to captivate the imagination throughout the evening. However, for all the negatives (and there were a lot of them), some stars still managed to create some memorable moments.
The Usos, Erick Rowan and Luke Harper managed to open the show in serious style, and there were a couple of moments during the huge Battle Royal that lit up the evening.
Which moments could be classified as the craziest and most daring of Battleground? Let's take a look.
The Usos Perform a Double Splash
1 of 4
Was it a contender for match of the year? Quite possibly. The Usos, Erick Rowan and Luke Harper delivered yet another incredible performance at Battleground to prove that they have one of the hottest rivalries on the entire roster.
For weeks and weeks, these two teams have gradually upped the ante, and their chemistry is absolutely superb.
There's a real feeling that this rivalry should roll on for a good while yet, and as long as they are pulling out spots like this, nobody can have any arguments.
The Usos managed to win the match and retain their belts in some style, as both Jimmy and Jey landed a huge double splash on Luke Harper to finally get the edge over their rivals.
It was a great finish to a phenomenal match, but there was another spot earlier in the match which was as good as that.
Luke Harper Goes One Better
2 of 4
We all know that Luke Harper has a reputation for being surprisingly agile despite being a huge guy. He consistently entertains the crowd with some incredible spots, and he didn't let us down at Battleground.
Harper has almost trademarked that leap over the top rope onto his opponents and rolled it out again against The Usos.
It was an incredible leap of faith that drove the crowd wild, with "This is Awesome!" chants breaking out seconds later.
Harper and Rowan must surely get the victory their performances deserve before too long. Perhaps SummerSlam will be the moment they finally dethrone Jimmy and Jey Uso.
Ambrose Surprises Rollins in the Car Park
3 of 4
In some ways, the manner in which the WWE played out Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose at Battleground was perfect. Everyone is desperate to see these two former stablemates lock horns in a singles match, but we are being made to wait yet again.
Ambrose's insistence on blindsiding Rollins whenever he gets half a chance is incredibly entertaining, and after first attacking him in the back, he went one better later on in the night.
Rollins thought he was safe and was about to get out of the arena without any more hitches, but the cunning Ambrose had other ideas and sprung from a car to launch another onslaught on his great rival.
Even though Rollins got away eventually, the seeds were sown for this fantastic feud to go one step further yet again.
Hopefully at SummerSlam we will see Ambrose get his hands on Rollins good and proper.
Kofi Kingston Does It Again
4 of 4
It's almost become a tradition for Kofi Kingston, who is a lower midcard star for the majority of the year, to act like a full-fledged main event star whenever a Battle Royal rolls around.
Battleground presented another such opportunity, where he again managed to defy the laws of gravity with an incredible spot.
After somehow ending up on Big E's shoulders, Kingston was still able to go at it with Cesaro.
Eventually, Cesaro managed to get the upper hand, and he tried to hurl Kofi out of the match by lifting him off Big E's shoulders. However, Kingston somehow managed to stay alive in the match and, amazingly, land in the ring.
He was eventually eliminated, but it was yet another Kofi Kingston moment that ranks alongside his previous greats.
