Ring Rap With Matt: A Note to Hardy Fans and Thoughts on the Bash
Hello, everyone. As always, I would like to thank you for spending a couple of minutes with me today.
I would like to discuss a few things with all of you today. Before I do this though, I would like to say a few words to the Jeff Hardy fans out there.
I know after The Bash there are a lot of Hardy fans annoyed, upset, mad, and frustrated. Believe me when I tell you I understand your pain and aggravation. It is going to be OK, I promise.

I, like you, can understand what it is like to have that golden carrot hung over your head time after time just to have it pulled away again. When this happens you get angry, frustrated, and you want to throw your shoe through the set.
I am a long-time Jerichoholic who has had to deal with this torture for years. When Jericho busted on the scene in 1999 with the WWE, that was when the torture started. Jericho for years would have that title dangled in front of him.
Do you guys remember that classic match where Jericho won the belt on Raw, just to have it taken away five minutes later? I saw that live that night, when he won I jumped for joy threw my bear in the air and yelled like a banshee.
Needless to say not only was I left with a empty feeling inside. I also wasted a perfectly good beer that night. That is just one of the many times that would happen over the years.
Trust me when I tell you that it doesn't get any easier. All you can do is take solace in knowing how great Jeff is. If you harp on him holding the title, you will get a ulcer.
The heavyweight title is nothing more than a promotional tool to sell tickets. Jeff will eventually be champ again, that I can say with confidence. Your best bet is to just enjoy his matches and not stress if he has the belts.
In the end when Jeff does hang up his boots, he will always be remembered as a performer, not how many times he was the heavyweight champ.
Let's move on to The Bash now, shall we?
I will say that I enjoyed it enough to warrant the price of the purchase. It wasn't the best PPV I have seen, nor was it the worst. They sprinkled on some good matches and nice surprises that left me happy at the end.
It was nice not to see the heavyweight titles swap hands again. It has reached the point of insanity and it needs to stop. I would like to see the WWE do things right for a change.
It is a very simple concept, start a feud let it cook for a few months and then swap the belt. Punk turning heel was a refreshing sight to see.
Orton retaining the belt was also the right thing to do. They need to build up his credibility again in order to show his dominance.
Like the last two PPVs, Jericho and Mysterio were solid in the ring. This shouldn't be a surprise and they did a good job ending a solid feud.
It was no surprise to me that Mysterio won last night. Vince isn't in the business to lose money and me makes a lot off Mysterio's merchandise.
As far as the ECW scramble match last night goes, It really didn't do much for me. I was never a fan of this gimmick match. After last night's match, my opinion is the same.
The Cena and Ziggler matches were rubbish. I didn't think Cena would job to the Miz, so that didn't bother me. I like the Miz but I think he is heading straight to mid-card limbo.
I was happy to see the ladies get a match on the PPV for a change. The ladies in my opinion did not disappoint last night. I hope this leads to further PPV matches.
To me the biggest surprise of the night was the tag titles going top Edge and Jericho. It was great to see some juice pumped into the tag belts. How much more juice is pumped in remains to be seen.
With Edge and Jericho holding the tag belts, this can lead to some entertaining moments. They are best friends in real life and work very well together in and out of the ring.
I am going to go out on a limb and say this will lead to one of them turning face. I say this because of the lack of top faces on the Smackdown roster now. They will start of fine for a while then one will turn on the other.
If I had to lay money on it, I will say Edge makes the turn to the good side. Jericho is just too hot right now as a heel to make that turn.
Well that's it for me folks thanks again for spending a few with me.
As always, good day and God bless.
