OVER 9.5 Tampa Bay/Florida:
The final batlte of Florida takes place this afternoon at the Trop as Andrew Miller (2-3, 4.17) takes on David Price (1-2, 4.45). Both young lefties are expected to be stalwarts for their teams for the next ten years, but niether has found their groove yet in 2009. Miller, the big lefty out of Chapel Hill has been better of late, but still can’t find the consistency he’s looking for. He’s allowed 8 runs in his last 18 innings of work, without a win in that time. He’ll be a good one someday, so keep an eye on him. Phenom Price, the first pick of the 2007 MLB Draft is going be an absolute stud, but is pitching more like a dud right now. He’s been terrible in his last few outings, allowing 10 runs on 15 hits in his last 11 innings of work. Needless to say those were both losses. He’ll get his act together, but may need to spend a little more time in the minors.

UNDER 10.5 Cincinnati/Cleveland:
Pretty decent pitching matchup in the finale of this three game set at “The Jake” this afternoon. Micah Owings (4-8, 4.87) goes for the Reds, while David Huff (3-2, 5.71) tkaes the mound for Cleveland. Owings, who is known as the best hitting pitcher in the league, is having a decent year for the Reds since coming over from Arizona. his last start was poor, but his three efforts before that he allowed 5 runs in 17 innings pitched. He’s up and down, but Cleveland isn’t a loaded offense, so we expect a decent effort today. Huff has been terrific since an absolutely awful start to his big league career. He’s won his last three decisions after starting out 0-2, and allowed just 6 runs in 20 innings of work in those three wins. His 2009 ERA is a bit deceiving considering his awful start, but he’s been pretty good of late. Cleveland is looking for any positives from this 2009 season, and Huff’s development is certainly a good start.
