The B/R Wrestling Community: A Quick Glimpse at a Growing Problem
Hello, everyone. As always, thank you for spending a few minutes with me today.
I would like to discuss something today that I know others on B/R have certain feelings about. What I will be discussing may strike a nerve in some people.
So if you get easily offended, I would suggest you stop reading.

What I would like to talk about today is favoritism that some may get on the B/R wrestling board.
I have read numerous posts over the last month about many who have been frustrated that their work isn't getting any spotlight. Many on here say that fluff stuff is getting more reads and attention over other worthy reads.
I myself will not deny that yes even I get a little annoyed sometimes. When I work hard on a read, and I don't get more than a couple hundred reads it annoys me a little.
For example; I wrote a nice touching on Mr Perfect, it was over four pages and it took a lot of time and research. I don't think it cracked over 200 readers when all was said and done.
If I said I wasn't a little annoyed by that I would be a bald-faced liar.
That's OK, though, the few readers I did get enjoyed it a lot and that is the most important thing to me. I taught them something new and they were thankful for it.
I have read other people's reads on here that have gotten AOTD before and I would scratch my head in wonder. I mean sometimes people put up gibberish, and I'm thinking to myself "what the hell is this?"
At the same time, I have also read other people's work and even though it didn't have many reads I gave it high praise. It would also often lead into a nice discussion about wrestling.
I won't speak for any one else, but I know what holds me back. My grammar is an issue in my articles to say the least. I don't even know how I am as high as I am on the leader board.
There may indeed be some favoritism on here. I cant deny that it isn't a possibility. What you really should be asking yourself, though, is "why am I here?"
If you have some grand delusion that someone will read your work and whisk you away to a magazine then you should probably go elsewhere.
Also, if you think that maybe that maybe the WWE or TNA will spot your work and sign you up, you might be in for a little disappointment then.
If you are here because you love pro wrestling and enjoy discussing it with others. B/R gives you that, my friends.
I come here because I get to meet cool people and talk about wrestling. I am no writer or columnist, nor do I aspire to be one.
I have met a lot of cool people on here and I am thankful for that. I think others out their should re-look at things and be thankful for the same reason.
Who cares if you don't get an article of the day. Is it that life altering for you? Isn't the satisfaction of even one reader caring enough to read what you have to say good enough?
I consider it a honor if someone takes time out of their lives to read my ramblings. It says to me that they respect what I have to say.
If that isn't enough for you, then maybe you should look elsewhere. I don't mean that in a insulting way, so please don't take it that way.
What I mean by that is, we are simply just a wrestling community: nothing more, nothing less. I wont lose any sleep over my read count, and neither should you.
Their are much more important things in life to worry about.
I really hope that I haven't offended anyone. If I have then I truly am sorry. I'm just tired of seeing all the negativity on here. This is supposed to be a fun experience, not a bad one.
I will be honest: the negativity is starting to take that fun away. I hope that doesn't happen, but if it does then I will go elsewhere.
We should all be happy to have a nice place to discuss wrestling. I hope that we as a B/R community realize that and can keep it that way.
Thank you all for reading.
As always, Good day and God bless.
