Ring Rap With Matt: The Bash's Thoughts and Predictions
Hello everyone. As always, thank you for spending a few minutes with me today.
Well it’s that time of the month again for Vince to give us another craptacular PPV.
This time the WWE gives us The Bash. I have to assume that is short for the Great American Bash. I could be wrong on that though.
After last months disappointing PPV I have to be honest I am not expecting much this month. On a bright note though over the last two months I am hitting almost 80% on my picks.
It is also nice to see the women’s title and tag titles defended on a PPV for a change. If they put these titles on the cards a little more often maybe we would care about them.
Why the U.S title isn’t up for grabs though is a little strange to me. You would think that they would continue to try to put some more juice in the belt.
So far this year I have been pretty good nailing the PPV matches. Lets see if I can keep my winning ways going!
WWE's the Bash thoughts and predictions
John Cena Vs. The Miz
This is one of the few matches I really care about this month. I would like to see the Miz pull this one out. The WWE has put some juice in his character as of late, which is nice to see.
That being said I have a feeling we are looking at a five-minute squash match.
I really hope that I am wrong on this one. I have to be honest I just don’t see them having Cena job to the Miz.
Sadly the winner will be Cena.
Melina Vs. McCool for the women’s title
These two ladies are probably some of the most capable on the women’s roster. We know that both can bring the goods to the squared circle. There is no reason not to expect a good match from these two.
If I had to guess on the time I would say Vince gives them five to 10 minutes in this one. This could be a good opportunity for the ladies to shine and maybe get more PPV matches.
In this match I am going to go with McCool to get the win at the bash.
Colons Vs. Legacy
While it is nice to see the tag belts defended at a PPV, I have to be honest with you this match doesn’t do much for me. The problem I have with the match is I have an idea where all this is going.
This will be the first part of the night that Legacy will shine.
I think both teams will be fine in this bout. They have wrestled each other often so that shouldn’t be an issue. I don’t see this going more than 15 minutes maybe even shorter.
In the end Legacy gets the win and becomes the new champs.
Chris Jericho Vs. Rey Mysterio for IC title
The feud these two have put on so far has been very entertaining so far. I think this Sunday though it finally ends. I think at this point we should know what to expect in the ring as far as action.
I will be honest with all of you I could care less about the stipulations. Jericho is a nine-time champ if he looses the belt its no biggie.
If for some reason Mysterio was demasked it wouldn’t be earth shattering. It has been done before in the past.
As great as this feud has been I think its time to end it. Lets face the facts these two have wrestled a million times over the years. I would hate for the WWE to let it get stale.
I think this match will hit the 15 to 20 minute march and it should be very exciting.
Logic tells me that Vince enjoys the money Mysterio brings in from the masks. For this reason alone I doubt Mysterio will loose on Sunday.
Winner and new IC champ Rey Mysterio
Scramble match for the ECW title
I really am not a big fan of gimmick matches in general. The scramble match is probably my least liked one that the WWE has.
This Sunday I am sure every one of the competitors will get a pin fall when all is said and done. These types of matches are very predictable and don’t stray from the formula of 3 or 4 way matches.
I don’t see Finlay or Henry leaving with the belt at the bash. I think this is the WWE's way of pulling the belt of Dreamer.
It is going to boil down to Swagger and Christian when all is said and done. If I said I knew for sure who would win I would be lying so I won't.
I pick Swagger to win just for the sake of picking someone.
CM Punk Vs. Jeff Hardy for the World Heavyweight title
This could turn into a nice little feud from these two guys if they push it. I think both work very well together in the ring.
I like how they are slowly pushing Punk as a heel. I hope to God they don’t swap the title again. Its not that I dislike Jeff, I am just sick of watching musical champs.
In this match its a no win situation for everyone.
If Punk wins we will have to hear the Hardy fans cry. If Hardy wins we will have to hear the moaning from the Punk fans.
I am sure either way we will see a whole bunch of articles on this one.
As far as the match goes I am sure it will be fine.
They way the WWE have been swapping the title left and right it would lead me to believe Jeff will win.
Randy Orton Vs. HHH in a three stages of hell match
These matches always go to the final match. Why they even bother to insult our intelligence and tell us "If a third match is needed" is beyond me.
I will tell you how this will play at exactly. HHH will win one of the matches. Orton will win one of the matches. I know I know I should start a 1-900 line.
I wish I could say I cared whom won in this bout but I don’t. With "all of" the belt swapping it’s just not that important to me who the champ is.
Since I have to pick a winner I will go ahead and say Orton wins the last match. This will complete legacy’s triumphant night.
Well folk’s thanks for spending a little time with me, enjoy the PPV.
