A Look Into WWE RAW's Big Ratings For Monday Night
Rick RockwellJun 24, 2009
WWE MOnday Night RAW scored it's highest ratings in a long time. Too long for me to remember.
RAW averaged a 4.53 on hours of 4.25 and 4.81.
THis is a shot in the arm for the WWE brass. But, I'm afraid that WWE might place this success on the wrong things. The biggest reason the WWE had the high ratings was because of Donald Trump. Lets look at the top 3 reasons I think RAW was successful.
The top 3 reasons people tuned into RAW this wee were:
- Donald Trump
- Commercial Free RAW
- HHH vs. Randy Orton
Let's look at each reason.
- Read my thorough analysis of the Donald Trump Storyline.
- The commercial free RAW was an interesting idea. Many fans, including myself, wanted to see how the WWE would fill in the commercial time. I thought that they did a good job with the flow and content of the show. I liked the no commercials and it saved the batteries in my remote.
- The WWE Championship match was a great match. I was entertained from beginning to end. This was PPV quality. I like that Orton kept the belt. HHH is better chasing the title than wearing it.
The true sign of WWE's ratings success will come on next week's RAW. Fortunately for them it's after a PPV so there will be high interest. Without Trump and a commercial free RAW, I wonder if they average over a 4 for both hours.
