Liverpool: If You Need a Miracle, Sign Jesus

Michelle AlvesJun 23, 2009

With God having played at Liverpool, it's only natural that Jesus would follow in his footsteps

Sixteen-year-old Spaniard Jesus "Suso" Fernandez was not only targeted by Liverpool, but also Barcelona and Real Madrid.  Taking on the position of a left side midfielder, he seems to be a great addition to any team.

Rafa has apparently been monitoring Suso’s performance over the last few months, and finally made a successful move to sign him. His trainer at his former club, Cadiz, speaks of him highly, saying, "great quality, a good shot, his vision is great and his passing is outstanding. I think they have signed a jewel." Liverpool seem to have made a good decision, yet the kid is said to be lacking in speed.

A compensation fee will be paid to Cadiz but the amount is unknown. Rafa may not be as good as Arsene Wenger when signing a young talent, but his record with Spanish signings are nearly perfect.

Suso has apparently signed a five year deal and has made his former club proud in knowing that the Cadiz youth system is working well. His trainer, Quique Gonzalez, is quoted saying, "If Manchester United cannot even keep Cristiano Ronaldo when Real Madrid was interested, you can imagine what it is like for a club Cadiz. I think he has everything needed to succeed there."

Liverpool is known to have more Spanish players in the their starting XI than Real Madrid; will this Spanish flair help the team win the league next season? Although he’s definitely not guaranteed a place in the starting lineup, It will be interesting to see how he fares with the first team.

Everyone knows Liverpool’s financial situation is a cause for concern. In order to redeem Liverpool, many people were quoted saying a miracle was needed. Has Madman Rafa taken those words a tad too seriously?  Is bringing Jesus to Anfield really going to be the answer? What do you think?
