The Good, the Great and the Awesome from NXT 4/24/14
The NXT Universe was injected with some new blood Thursday night, as Tyson Kidd returned to the show and made it very clear that he plans to seize the opportunities given to him and make an impact on the WWE Network.
His win over Mason Ryan was a step in the right direction.
Speaking of making an impact, second-generation Diva Charlotte did just that, notching the biggest win of her young career by pinning current WWE Divas champion Paige in tag team competition. With a tournament to crown a new NXT Women's champion beginning next week, she heads into battle riding a wave of momentum.
Tyler Breeze is enjoying his own momentum following the discovery of an aggressive streak and a series of victories. His latest over the young, inexperienced Angelo Dawkins may have been his most impressive.
Sami Zayn and Corey Graves' issues came to a head in this week's main event when they met in a six-man tag team war. Zayn and the Usos stood victorious after beating Graves and the Ascension to close out the show, but one must wonder whether the feud between Zayn and Graves is truly over.
With a great show in the books and a fresh, new taping cycle kicking off next week, here is a look back at the very best of the April 24 episode of NXT.

Rusev Crush
"The Bulgarian Brute" Alexander Rusev continued to wreak havoc across all levels of competition in WWE as he pounded rookie Travis Tyler into the mat Thursday night on the WWE Network. With the "Ravishing Russian" Lana watching on, seemingly satisfied with what she was seeing, Rusev locked in the Accolade and scored another impressive and dominant victory via submission.
With his first pay-per-view match upcoming at Extreme Rules on May 4, Rusev will need all the tuning up he can get. That match, a two-one-one handicap match against R-Truth and Xavier Woods, and how well it plays in front of the live crowd in East Rutherford, could go a long way to determining the level of success Rusev achieves in the weeks and months that follow it.
Regardless, Thursday's match was exactly what it needed to be and Tyler did an admirable job of bumping around for his physically imposing opponent.

Tyson Kidd Returns to NXT
The last graduate of the Hart Family dungeon made his return to NXT this week, scoring a big win over Mason Ryan via the Blockbuster. The win may not have done much to improve his status on the main roster, but Kidd has a golden opportunity to star in NXT, where he can help the stars of tomorrow develop and prepare for their big shot on Raw and SmackDown.
Kidd could make a major impact in the NXT title picture, where he and Neville could work far better together than Neville and Brodus Clay, who have shown a major lack of chemistry to this point in their rivalry.
Paige and Emma vs. Charlotte and Sasha Banks
This week's Divas action featured the BFFs scoring a much-needed victory over Emma and current WWE Divas champion Paige.
Had JBL not stripped Paige of the NXT Women's title earlier in the evening, Charlotte's pinfall victory over the raven-haired young lady could have served as the emphasis for a title match and a passing of the torch from Paige to the second-generation Diva.
As it stands, the win is a great way for Charlotte to gain momentum heading into the NXT Women's title tournament, which will begin on next week's show.

Sami Zayn and The Usos vs. Corey Graves and The Ascension
If there is one thing WWE does as well, if not better, than any other wrestling promotion in the country, it is six-man tag matches. They have perfected the formula for the match, as fans have witnessed with several of The Shield's great bouts.
Thursday night, that formula was on display again as Sami Zayn and The Usos took on Corey Graves and NXT Tag Team champions The Ascension.
The match was an action-packed, energetic bout that saw each team take control of the match by isolating one of their opponents. In the end, the babyfaces cleared the ring of the Ascension, leaving Jey Uso to deliver a top-rope splash on Graves and pick up the win.
A great way to cap off what was a very solid episode of NXT.
Tyler Breeze's Aggressive Streak
Prince Pretty's win over Angel Dawkins may have come in a squash match, but it was the new-found aggression that he continues to show that will ultimately lead him to the top of NXT.
The way that he snapped early in the match and unleashed with furious strikes to his opponent will serve him well, and have fans seeing past the polished nature of the character and into his darker, more serious side.
As a Zoolander ripoff, there was only so far Breeze was going to go. With the new elements of his character, the sky is the limit for the gorgeous one.
