WWE Extreme Rules 2014: Titles Most Likely to Change Hands at Event

Aaron BowerApr 21, 2014

Extreme Rules 2014 is fast approaching, and the first pay-per-view following WrestleMania XXX promises much in the way of excitement and drama.

However, we may not be guaranteed that many championships will change hands. It looks like four of the WWE's five championships will be on the line at the event—with Dean Ambrose involved in more important rivalries.

So, which WWE titles are most likely to change hands at Extreme Rules? Out of interest, it looks likely that Daniel Bryan and The Usos will retain their championships, leaving two belts that will potentially change hands.

Divas Championship

Paige has been the champion for just a matter of weeks, but it is possible she could drop the championship at Extreme Rules.

She is scheduled to fight Tamina Snuka for the belt at the show, and the fact that it is Snuka means there could well be another woman at the head of the division following Extreme Rules.

After all, Paige is a newcomer on the main WWE roster, and the guys backstage may feel she is not yet ready for a lengthy run as champ.

And with an interesting subplot developing if Tamina wins the Divas Championship—and a potential return for AJ Lee to take on her bodyguard—perhaps it might be a smart move for Paige to drop the belt in her infancy as champion.

Intercontinental Championship

Unfortunately, it looks like the writing is on the wall for Big E and his time as intercontinental champion.

His run as champ started incredibly strongly, and the title was getting good exposure before things went stale pretty quickly.

All of a sudden, a whole host of guys look well-equipped to take the belt off Big E. It's amazing what a couple of wins can do for you, and it has to be said that guys such as Bad News Barrett, Cesaro and Alberto Del Rio would all make superb champions.

Whoever prevails as the winner of the tournament to determine Big E's challenger, you would have to fancy him to finally end Big E's reign as champion and begin a new era in the division.
