WWE NXT: Full Preview, Rumors and More for April 17
Welcome to Bleacher Report's preview for the April 17 episode of NXT on the WWE Network. Spoilers are already out there, but if you want to know what will happen without having the matches spoiled for you, you're in the right place.
This week's show is packed to the gills with six matches, but don't expect any instant classics.
When a show is that full of action, it usually means most, if not all, of the matches will be somewhat short.
With up to four weeks' worth of shows being taped on a given day, we have had these results available for quite some time.
This also mean that the recent Divas title win by Paige has not happened in the NXT timeline yet, but WWE likes to keep NXT and WWE separate for the most part, so it's not a huge deal that it won't be addressed until later.
The big story this week will be Brodus Clay taking on Adrian Neville in a non-title match. Clay recently made it clear that he feels WWE screwed him over by giving his music to Xavier Woods, and he will be looking to take out that aggression on the man that gravity forgot.
Neville is the current face of NXT, so we can probably expect a decent fight from the champ, but Clay has a major size and strength advantage, so we'll have to see how this match plays out.
Clay is not a big player on the WWE roster, but he is more well known among fans than the average NXT Superstar, so having him come in to challenge Neville will help build credibility for the young star and the title he carries.
In addition to the NXT champion, we are also set to see the Tag Team champions, The Ascension, in action against an unknown tag team.
Khali will be making a rare NXT appearance this week when he takes on the much smaller CJ Parker.
Other Superstars who will be in action include Aiden English, Colin Cassady, Ty Dillinger, Jason Jordan, Sawyer Fulton, Baron Corbin and Camacho.
With WWE running tributes to The Ultimate Warrior all week long, we may see some kind of graphic and video package shown during NXT, but since this show was taped before his passing, it is unlikely we will see it addressed by the announcers during the show.
It's also safe to assume that Bo Dallas and Adam Rose will have their video packages play to hype their main-roster debuts coming up.
This week's NXT all seems pretty standard, but you never know what WWE will do at the last minute.
What are you looking forward to on this week's show?
