San Francisco -150 over Texas:
Matt Cain (9-1, 2.39) could be the leading candidate right now for the NL Cy Young Award as the Giants are right in the thick of the NL Wild Card race. Rookie lefty Derek Holland (1-4, 6.63) takes the hill for the Rangers. Holland will be a star one day, but right now is taking his lumps as a rookie pitcher in the big leagues. San Francisco took care of business last night behind Randy Johnson and the bullpen 6-4. We think the Giants win big today as Matt Cain gets his 10th win of 2009.

Baltimore +150 over Philadelphia
The Orioles are hot again, as evidenced by last night’s 7-2 win at Philadelphia. Nick Markakis, Matt Wieters, and Nolan Riemold led the way as the “baby birds” look ot be on the verge of something special after years of losing. Young righty Brad Bergesen (4-2, 3.79) takes the hill for the O’s. Bergesen has been on a roll of late, allowing just 6 runs in his last 31 innings pitched. He wasn’t highly rated, but has emerged as the de facto ace of the staff right now. JA Happ goes for the Phillies, and after a great start, he’s tailed off a little his past few starts, allowing 9 earned runs in his last 10 innings pitched. Should be a good ballgame in this rematch of the 1983 World Series, but we like the O’s to go up 2-0 in the series.
