WWE Extreme Rules 2014: Superstars Who Will Shine Under PPV Spotlight

Aaron BowerApr 14, 2014

The first pay-per-view following WrestleMania XXX is just around the cornerโ€”Extreme Rules.

This will be the sixth time the WWE has put on this event, and the 2014 edition promises to be a fascinating one.

We still have plenty of rivalries heading out of WrestleMania that could be showcased at Extreme Rules, and there will be a lot of guys looking to make an impact.

The roster is packed with talent at this current time, and there are some men who will thrive under the huge spotlight this show will bring.

But which men in particular will feel right at home at Extreme Rules? Let's take a look.

Rob Van Dam

1 of 5

We start with a guy who has just made his return to the company, but he will surely have an impact at Extreme Rules.

It would be nice to see Rob Van Dam get some sort of run as a champion this time aroundโ€”perhaps as Intercontinental champion, for example.

He was in pretty decent shape in his match against Damien Sandow on Raw, and you get the impression this particular pay-per-view suits him perfectly.

After all, it is called Extreme Rules, and RVD will forever be remembered as an ECW great. If he is booked right, Rob Van Dam could steal the show at Extreme Rules.

Bray Wyatt

Surely Extreme Rules is going to suit Bray Wyatt. He is the most demonic, twisted character the WWE has had for some timeโ€”and he will deliver at this particular pay-per-view.

It is likely he will be thrown into a rematch with John Cenaโ€”hopefully with some brutal stipulation attached to it.

Wyatt's persona should really come to the fore in surroundings like this, and we will see him rise to even greater heights in terms of the level of performance he will bring.

The storyline with Bray and Cena is quite intriguing. It was interesting to see a twist adapted to the tale at WrestleMania XXX, where Cena was almost battling against his own demons.

Wyatt is headed for the very top, and shows like Extreme Rules will only confirm that even more.

Daniel Bryan

3 of 5

The champ is going to thrive at Extreme Rulesโ€”there can be no doubt about that.

He is a guy who brings a high level of excitement to the ring, and at Extreme Rules, Bryan will again deliver.

It's unclear whom Bryan will be fighting at the show and whether his titles are even put on the line. But you can bet that Bryan will be putting his body to the limit to please the crowd, which is why it loves him so much.

Exhilarating, exciting and thrilling. Those are three words you can often attribute to both the Extreme Rules pay-per-view and Daniel Bryan. The two are a match made in heaven.ย

Seth Rollins

4 of 5

Let me be perfectly honest for a moment: I absolutely love Seth Rollins' approach to wrestling.

He is the most exciting member of The Shield, but that should not be taken as disrespectful toward Roman Reigns and Dean Ambroseโ€”they are both brilliant.

However, Rollins just seems to have that little bit extra. In the last couple of months, we have seen Rollins throw himself all over arenas and shows, and people are certainly taking notice.

He also seems to suit the babyface role quite well. It is hard to have a high-flying guy act as a heel, which is why the turn is perfect for Rollins.

When The Shield battles at Extreme Rules, the spotlight that comes with the show will be perfect for Seth Rollins.

Cesaro

5 of 5

It is likely that Cesaro will be burying his feud with Jack Swagger at Extreme Rules. His recent babyface turn is a smart move from the WWE, since the fans were already buying into him.

The patented swing and his overall wrestling ability make him a very likable guy in the eyes of wrestling fans. Aligning him with Paul Heyman is another great decision by WWE Creative.

He is growing each and every day as a wrestler and as an entertainer. When he takes to the ring at Extreme Rules, expect plenty of thrilling action.

The future is bright for Cesaro, and Extreme Rules is only the start. Potentially, the WWE could have its next big star on its hands with the Swiss Superman.
