WWE's Top Tweets, Instagram Photos and Viral Videos for Week of April 7

Ryan DilbertApr 11, 2014

The week's WWE social media traces the journey of fans' hearts, from the soaring they did during the opening of WrestleMania 30, the shock they suffered when the streak ended and the sinking they did when the Ultimate Warrior passed away.

The most popular and interesting tweets, Instagram photos and viral videos made a celebrity out of a face in the crowd and documented the passionate response to Daniel Bryan's second win in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

WrestleMania 30 began in momentous fashion.

The Rock, Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin all entered the ring for the opening segment. Seeing those legends gathered together was a sight that made many a fan squeal.

Elissa Corrigan tweeted a picture of the Hall of Fame trio:

The Shield would later dominate Kane and The New Age Outlaws in a short match. It was a statement win, one that reminded us of their unity and power. They also debuted a new look that night.

WWE posted a shot of The Shield in masks backstage on Instagram:

On a slower night, The Shield not getting much ring time would have been a bigger headline, but WrestleMania 30 was largely defined by Brock Lesnar defeating Undertaker. After going 21-0 at "The Show of Shows" it was assumed that Undertaker would add another win to his record.

When Lesnar pinned "The Deadman," shock echoed through the arena and across the Internet.

Some fans looked like they were going to yank their hair out:

Some experienced heartbreak:

For Ellis Mbeh, he became famous. Images of his shocked face spread quickly. In days, he became as well-known as Angry Miz Girl. WWE.com even wrote a feature on him.

A video of him reacting to other surprises, wrestling-related and otherwise, was up on YouTube in no time:

After the stunning the crowd experienced thanks to Lesnar, Bryan won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Batista and Randy Orton.

That victory came after months of watching Bryan struggle, getting the metaphorical football pulled away from him just as he was about to kick it.

The reaction to seeing him raise the titles as confetti rained on him was simply awesome. The video pro wrestling artist Rob Schamberger posted on Instagram perfectly captured the joy inside the Superdome:

In contrast to that joy, wrestling fans mourned a family member this week.

Ultimate Warrior passed away just days after entering the Hall of Fame and only hours after appearing on Raw. At the time, the speech he made that Monday felt like nothing special.

He rambled on about legacy and how every man's heart one day stops beating. Looking back, it's incredibly eerie, as he seems to be foretelling his own death:

Over 3 million people have watched that video.

Twitter was bursting with tributes to Warrior after the news broke. Scott Hall tweeted a tribute that topped them all:

Hard to say it better than that.
