Batkid Steals the Show at Giants' 2014 Home Opener, Throws out 1st Pitch

Kyle NewportApr 8, 2014

The San Francisco Giants welcomed fans back to AT&T Park on Tuesday with a terrific treat before kicking off their home opener.

A young boy named Miles Scott and his adventures as Batkid became the feel-good story of the offseason. The five-year-old leukemia survivor was able to save the Giants' mascot, Lou Seal, from evil thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. An entire city came together to see to it that a little boy's dreams came true, which helped make the experience so special.

Miles also had a chance to cheer on the San Francisco 49ers from the sideline last season.

Now that it's baseball season, the boy was there to assist his favorite team in opening its home schedule. The 2014 MLB season is more than a week old, but the Giants had yet to host a game at AT&T Park this season until Tuesday. There is no better way for the first homestand to commence than to bring the hero of the offseason to the park.

Batkid's day looked pretty awesome:

Not a bad way for Batkid to take a break from fighting against evil.
