UNDER 9 Florida/Boston:
Good pitchng matchup tonight at Fenway Park in the finale of this three game series between the Marlins and Red Sox. Ricky Nolacso (2-6, 7.62) takes on Jon Lester (5-5, 4.76). I know what you’re thinking, but don’t let these ERA’s fool you. Both pitchers are on the top of their games right now, and look to be getting stronger each time out. Nolasco was terrible to start the season, but has been great after spending a little time in the minors. His last two starts have been great, allowing 4 runs in 13 innings pitched, while striking out 13. He appears to have found his flaws and corrected them for now. Lester has been nothing short of brilliant since an really poor April. He’s allowed just 1 run in 4 of his last 5 starts. His last three starts rival the best in Baseball over that time, allowing 3 runs in 23 innings, while striking out 33 batters. Look for runs to be tough to come by tonight at Fenway Park.

UNDER 10.5 Washington/New York Yankees:
Washington looks for two straight at Yankee Stadium this afternoon with Craig Stammen taking the hill against Joba Chamberlain. Last night behind John Lannan, the Nationals beat New York 3-2. This afternoon should be another pitchers duel, especially with the Yankees possibly without Derek Jeter, who missed last night’s game with an ankle injury. Rookie Craig Stammen has been decent in his past few efforts, and looks to be a key piece to the Nats future. Joba Chamberlain has been up and down as always, but overall his numbers are good (3-1, 3.84). We still think he’s best suited for a relief role, but the Yankees keep sending him out to start. He rarely goes more than 6 innings and many feel he’d be dominant as a 6-8th inning guy like Mariano Rivera was for them in 1996 setting up John Wetteland. Look for a low scoring affair this afternoon at Yankee Stadium.
