WrestleMania 30 Predictions: Breaking Down PPV's Most Underrated Matches
The WrestleMania XXX card certainly appears to be top-heavy at first glance, but the undercard certainly has a chance to surprise fans with low expectations.
None of the supporting matches will outperform the likes of Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H, The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar or John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt, however, they don't have to in order for WrestleMania to be great. As long as those involved put forth maximum effort, the WWE Universe will be entertained.
Along with a listing of the entire match card for WrestleMania XXX in New Orleans, here are predictions for some of the most underrated bouts that will be contested on Sunday.
| Randy Orton vs. Batista vs. Daniel Bryan/Triple H | WWE World Heavyweight Championship | Triple Threat | Daniel Bryan |
| Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H | N/A | Winner added to main event | Double DQ |
| The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar | N/A | N/A | The Undertaker |
| John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt | N/A | N/A | Bray Wyatt |
| The Shield vs. Kane & New Age Outlaws | N/A | Six-Man Tag | The Shield |
| Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal | N/A | N/A | Alexander Rusev |
| Vickie Guerrero Divas Championship Invitational | Divas Championship | N/A | AJ Lee |
| The Usos vs. Real Americans vs. Los Matadores vs. Rybaxel | Tag Team Championships | Fatal 4-Way | The Usos |
The Shield vs. Kane & New Age Outlaws
Since debuting at Survivor Series 2012, The Shield have arguably been the most dominant force in WWE. Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins have dished out a unique brand of justice that few have been able to escape. The Shield's run atop WWE appeared to be coming to an end in recent months with turmoil threatening to end the partnership, but things have certainly changed.
After reconciling and getting back on the same page, The Shield began to turn their focus elsewhere. Rather than targeting top faces, Reigns, Ambrose and Rollins have gone after heels instead. It all started with their insubordination toward Director of Operations Kane, and it will result in a match against the team of Kane and the New Age Outlaws at WrestleMania.
Shield fans have reason to be somewhat disappointed since the creative team missed the boat on more intriguing matches like a rematch with the Wyatt Family or a Triple Threat between Shield members. Even so, this should be a solid match due to the fact that The Shield rarely disappoints.
As evidenced by this recent tweet courtesy of Rollins, The Shield are ready to put on a show at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome:
Kane, Road Dogg and Billy Gunn are reaching the end of their respective careers, and there is no reason for them to go over here. Bigger and better things are on the horizon for The Shield, and their post-Mania run needs to be fueled by a win on the grandest stage of them all.
Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
Battle royals have a long history at WrestleMania, but it has been quite some time since one of importance has been contested on the main card. That will change on Sunday as 30 WWE Superstars will compete in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania XXX.
Not only will the winner have bragging rights and a WrestleMania moment at their disposal, but they will also earn a prestigious Andre the Giant trophy. The match was first announced by Hulk Hogan several weeks ago, and he is certainly excited about the possibilities:
The battle royal is stacked with star power as former world champions Big Show, Sheamus, Rey Mysterio, Dolph Ziggler, Christian, Alberto Del Rio, The Miz, Mark Henry and many others will be involved. All of them are potential candidates to win, particularly Big Show due to the fact that he has been booked to look dominant leading up to WrestleMania.
At the same time, it can be argued that Big Show has been built so well to the point that having him win would be too obvious. Of those who have been announced for the battle royal, Sheamus may be the favorite. He is a main event-caliber star, he has won the Royal Rumble in the past and winning this match would be a nice springboard moving forward.
There are still three spots up for grabs, so it wouldn't be particularly shocking if a yet-to-be-announced participant wins. The best bet in that regard is Alexander Rusev. The Bulgarian Brute has yet to wrestle an official WWE match aside from the Royal Rumble, and he is bound to get involved at some point.
Having him essentially debut and win the battle royal would be huge for his credibility right off the bat, and it would make for a memorable WrestleMania moment as well.
The Usos vs. Real Americans vs. Los Matadores vs. Rybaxel
WrestleMania's main card doesn't begin until 7 p.m. ET on Sunday, but the action truly kicks off during the second half of the pre-show at 6 p.m. ET. In an exclusive WWE Network match, The Usos will defend their tag team championships against the Real Americans, Los Matadores and Rybaxel in a Fatal 4-Way match.
This contest admittedly seems thrown together, but it has the potential to be fantastic from an in-ring perspective since all four teams bring something different to the table. The Usos have been performing extremely well over the past several months, and they are confident that they'll be able to come out on top, as seen in this WWE Instagram video:
The Usos are certainly favored, although the Real Americans could be a factor as well. Cesaro and Jack Swagger mesh incredibly well as a team, but the one thing that seems to be holding them down is the fact that they can't stay on the same page. It's easy to envision the Real Americans breaking up in the near future so Cesaro can branch off on his own.
The Real Americans could win the titles at WrestleMania only to drop them back to The Usos the next night on Raw and break up then. Neither Los Matadores nor Rybaxel are threats to win the straps, but they'll certainly play an integral role in the match.
When push comes to shove, though, The Usos haven't done anything to warrant losing the tag team championships, and they'll hang on to them at 'Mania.
