Sammy Sosa Another Great Hitter in The Steriod Era
I'm not an doctor or a scientist of any kind, but lets be honest, baseball has taken a back seat to the NBA, NFL and the UFC. Their fans are still passionate and they love the game. People have dawned this the Steriod Era and steriods have been around for as long as I can remember, but its time that we quit acting surprised that names are coming out and we need to quit acting like we are hurt and that the players owe us an apology. How fun was the Sosa vs Mcgwire homerun race? It was a blast to watch, baseball mattered again. Lets quit comparing these guys to Ruth, Mays and Aaron, they weren't in the Steriod Era. Just like you can't compare Randy Moss to Fred Biletnikoff because of the changes in the game and in the Era's.
People are always going to be looking for an edge, its not right, but its true. We need to start comparing who were the best hitters in this era, not of all time. Whether you are clean or juiced, you are officially in the Steriods Era. Fair or not, that is how you will be looked at. So can we stop demanding an apology from these players? They made a game that was so boring to watch, for the average american exciting. I'm not encouraging steriods, I hope they clean up the game and make it a level playing field once again.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Our problem with society today and all the major networks is that we want to make sports superstars heroes and people we look up to and want to model ourselves after. We talk them up so much, that when they make a human mistake, that an educated person would not make we act mad and upset. I'm not calling sports athletes dumb, but you can't hold them to a higher standard than a doctor. Michael Vick is a perfect example, yes he did a wrong thing, but he paid the price. You hear news anchors saying, he is the QB he should know better, he is a star and has a lot of money, and he is the QB. Lisetn, i'm not sure if anyone knows this, but a QB doesn't really give you the credentials to do much other than to throw a football to players on your team. Troy Aikman just barely graduated from college, that is an awesome accomplishment, he got his degree in sociology. He is a hall of fame QB, not an army vet or a fireman. I'm not sure if he's ever saved anyones life, but he is a hero.
We really need to be honest with ourselves, most of these guys don't come from an educated background, and they used sports to get them out of the place they were from. We need to look up to cops, doctors, firemen and soldiers they are the real heroes. They are saving lives everyday, but we don't read too much on that. Sports athletes are entertainers, the media needs to quit holding them up to the standards of Doctors and all of the other true heroes. Maybe i'm completely wrong, but i'm not a doctor or a scientist so that means i'm not a hero.
