UNDER 8.5 Cleveland/St Louis:
A great game on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball tonight as two former Cy Young Winners go head to head. Chris Carpenter (4-0, 1.23) takes on Cliff Lee (3-6, 3.17) in a brilliant pitching matchup. Carpenter has been simply awesome since his return from the DL. He has yet to lose and has pitched into the 6th inning in every start so far. After missing most of the past two seasons with elbow problems, he appears to be all the way back to past form. Last year’s AL Cy Young winner Cliff Lee got off to a rough start this year, but has been great recently. His record is only 3-6, but the Indians do find themselves in last place in the AL Central. Lee has allowed 5 runs in his last 15 innings pitched, and will need to be at his best tonight opposing Carpenter and the Cardinals.

Florida + 105 over Toronto:
Josh Johnson (5-1, 2.73) is the ace of the Marlins staff and he is quickly becoming one of the best pitchers in the National League. He nearly dominates every time out, giving up only 4 runs in his past 15 innings of work. Toronto’s lefty Brian Tallet has done a nice job this year as well. The converted reliever pitched 7 shutout innings last week in a 9-0 Jays win over Texas. Cito Gaston has done a terrific job this season keeping the Jays in the thick of the competitive American League East race all year long. We like the Marlins to win today and take 2 of 3 in this series.
