WrestleMania 30 Card: Projecting Remainder of PPV's Matches

Aaron BowerMar 11, 2014

There are just under four weeks until the biggest show in the wrestling calendar—WrestleMania XXX. Some of the bigger matches—the ones that need more promoting—are already set in stone, and we have five such examples already locked in for the 'Mania card in 2014.

Randy Orton vs. Batista has been confirmed since the Elimination Chamber, when Orton managed to defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. We have known about The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar for a while now, too—even if they seem to be merely taking turns to promote the match rather than promote it with each other.

The most recent edition of Raw (Mar. 10) also saw two more matches confirmed. Triple H vs. Daniel Bryan is finally on after Bryan forced the COO of the company into lacing up his boots again, and John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt was another match that got locked down on Raw. Finally, we have the inaugural Andre the Giant Battle Royal, too.

However, there are still plenty of more matches that need to be created to successfully pull off a four-hour show. But where will they come from?

Nikki Bella vs. AJ Lee for the Divas Championship

Naturally, there will be some form of Divas match taking place at WrestleMania XXX. AJ Lee has been a fantastic champion and has seemingly knocked everyone in the division off at some point to strengthen her claims to be one of the best Divas of all time.

However, we may have had a slight clue as to who her WrestleMania challenger will be this time around on Raw. The Bella Twins managed to defeat AJ and Tamina Snuka in a tag match, with Nikki Bella posing with the title after the match.

Could that indicate it will be Nikki who steps up to the plate to face Lee at WrestleMania? Many would have thought her sister, Brie, would have been at the front of the queue. After all, she suffered an injury when she was seemingly on a collision course with Lee a few weeks ago.

Maybe there are plans for Brie to be in Daniel Bryan's corner at WrestleMania, leaving Nikki with the opportunity to claim the Divas Championship.

Tag Team Turmoil Match

Don't get me wrong—it could simply end up being The Usos vs. The New Age Outlaws for the Tag titles. However, that doesn't seem very likely given the strength of the tag division.

We saw the re-emergence of The Rhodes Brothers on Raw recently, and you would imagine they will need to be involved with this match to have a spot on the WrestleMania card.

But there are several other teams that could be involved, too, leading to the idea of a multiple-team match. What about Luke Harper and Erick Rowan? Bray Wyatt will be busy dealing with John Cena, so perhaps they could make their presence felt within the tag division at WrestleMania?

Whatever happens, the Tag titles will be defended at WrestleMania XXX in some capacity. The Usos and The New Age Outlaws will definitely be involved; it is just a case of whether the WWE chooses to up the ante in this particular environment.

Antonio Cesaro vs. Jack Swagger

This will be an interesting match. It has been teased for weeks now, and we have gotten to the point where The Real Americans are ready to split.

The company has created a potential mega-babyface in Antonio Cesaro and has built him up nicely over the past few months. This has created a situation where he has almost outgrown Jack Swagger, so expect the two to go head-to-head at WrestleMania XXX.

Having Zeb Colter stuck between the two men is an interesting subplot to the match, too. He seems torn as to who to support when both Swagger and Cesaro have their disagreements, and you would imagine the WWE will involve Zeb in the outcome of the match.

WrestleMania is such a huge event that it needs intrigue all the way down the card for it to be a success. This is one such match that will go a long way in helping with that.

Dean Ambrose vs. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins

Will it happen? Won't it happen? It's tough to determine, but at this precise moment in time, you would have to still say yes.

There are obviously still fractions between the members of The Shield, but the WWE has been teasing that things might well turn out OK in the long run. However, we all know that simply won't happen.

It's expected that all three members of the group will lock horns at WrestleMania, and it would certainly be a fascinating battle.

In some ways, it will be a shame: The Shield has been great for the WWE. The other option would be to have the group turn face and go at it with The Wyatt Family once more.

However, it looks like the implosion of The Shield is imminent. And that will make for great viewing at WrestleMania XXX—there can be no doubting that.
