Roy Halladay Leaves Game With Injury
June 13, 2009
Toronto Blue Jays’ ace Roy Halladay left tonight’s game in the fourth inning against the Florida Marlins with a groin injury.
After Marlins OF Jeremy Hermida fouled a pitch off down the left field line, Halladay stepped off the mound and appeared to be in some pain. Rod Barajas, Cito Gasten and the trainer came to the mound to check on Halladay. After a couple of minutes of conversing on the mound, Halladay came out of the game.
I am watching the game and the initial reports are that the injury doesn’t appear to be serious. This would be a devastating loss to the Blue Jays if this turns into something more.
More on this story as it develops.
