Paul Bearer to Be Inducted into 2014 WWE Hall of Fame Class

Joseph ZuckerMar 3, 2014

Oh yeeeeeeeesss. Paul Bearer joins the Ultimate Warrior, Jake Roberts and Lita as the newest inductee in the WWE Hall of Fame. The company announced the news Monday night during Raw:

As you'd expect with one of the most legendary managers in WWE history, Bearer's Hall of Fame nomination was met with universal praise among stars past and present:

Prior to arriving at WWE, Bearer went by the moniker "Percy Pringle," managing such stars as Rick Rude, Steve Austin and a young Mark Calaway. Coincidentally, it was with Calaway that Bearer rose to fame.

He followed Brother Love in 1990 as the mouthpiece to The Undertaker, and the rest is history as he was there during "The Deadman's" rise through the company. Few managers are as synonymous with their clients as Paul Bearer is with The Undertaker.

It's not crazy to make the argument that without Bearer, The Undertaker wouldn't be the star that he is now. Bearer helped to cultivate what has become the best character in the history of the company.

His high-pitched voice became one of the most recognizable around, with those two famous words—oh yes—sending chills down many fans' spines.

It will be interesting to see whom inducts Bearer into the Hall of Fame and accepts the award on his behalf. Bearer passed away on March 5 of last year. Former WWE star Lance Storm formulated what would be a great induction:

Whether or not that happens, everybody will agree that this is a deserved honor for Bearer. There won't be anybody like him again.
