New York -150 over Boston:
Boston has now won 7 straight to start the season vs. The Yankees, their longest streak since 1912!! The Yankees weren’t even called the Yankees yet, they were the New York Highlanders. Well tonight, that streak will finally come to an end as CC Sabathia (5-3, 3.56) takes the hill for the pinstripes and opposes Brad Penny (5-2, 5.85). New York signed Sabathia to be a big time pitcher who wins big games, and this game is big, despite it only being June 11. Mark Teixeira has been carrying the Yankees on his back, as he is now hitting .296 with 19 homers and 52 RBI after a terrible April. He’s really caught fire since Alex Rodriguez returned to the Yanks lineup. Look for the Yankees to win the finale of this series tonight and head back home to face the Mets this weekend.

Tampa Bay -150 over Los Angeles Angels:
The defending American League Champs find themselves 6 games back and in 4th place in the American League East. It’s time for these guys to prove that 2008 wasn’t a fluke. Rookie phneom David Price (1-0, 2.45) takes the hill tonight for the Rays and will be opposed by righty Ervin Santana (1-2, 6.75), who hasn’t been himself since coming off the DL last month. Price’s troubles this year have been his pitch counts. He’s trying to become the ace the Rays thought they’d be drafting with the #1 pick in 2007. He seems to be strong into about the 6th inning of games but then begins to tire. He’ll work his way through it eventually, as soon as he finds his command. Santana has struggled since coming back from the DL. He allowed 8 runs in 5 innings 2 starts back, but did bounce back with a great start last out in Detroit, a notorious pitchers park. We like the Rays to win their second straight and look to make a nice run in the AL East.
