OVER 10.5 New York Yankees / Boston Red Sox:
The best rivalry in Baseball marches on tonight in game 2 of this three game series at Fenway Park. Boston took the first game of the series last night behind Josh Beckett in their 7-0 victory. Tonight’s matchup is betweek Chien Ming Wang (0-3, 14.46) and Tim Wakefield (7-3, 4.50) Wang’s struggles this year have been monumental, but his ERA has actually been cut in half since he was re inserted in the starting rotation. He spent some time on the DL after his awful start, and replaced Phil Hughes as New York’s 5th starter. He is 6-5 with a 4.82 ERA for his career against Boston. Tim Wakefield goes to the hill for the BoSox, who have won 7 straight against New York for the first time since 1984-85. The streak to open the year, though, is the club’s second-longest against the Yankees to begin a season behind a 14-gamer from April 11-July 1, 1912 when the New York franchise was known as the Highlanders. Wakefield is 10-17 with a 5.03 ERA in his career vs the Yankees. Lots of runs are expected in tonight’s game. A definite over.

UNDER 8.5 Detroit Tigers / Chicago White Sox:
Good pitching matchup tonight in game 4 of this 5 game set between the Tigers and White Sox. Justin Verlander (6-2, 3.26) takes the mound for Detroit, while John Danks (4-4, 5.10) toes the rubber for the Pale Hose. Verlander is absolutely rolling right now, going 6-0 with a 1.12 ERA in his last 8 starts. He has been nothing short of brilliant since being roughed up in April. His career numbers against Chicago is not impressive, as he’s 2-9 with a 5.90 ERA vs. the White Sox. John Danks (4-4, 5.10) takes the hill for the White Sox. Danks hasn’t been himself lately, but last year was one of the top lefties in the game. For his career, he’s 2-1 with a 4.00 ERA. This has been a closely played series thuse far, as the White Sox try to get back into the race in the AL Central. The division leading Tigers will look to put some distance between themselves and Chicago as this series wraps up tomorrow. Expect a pitchers duel tonight in the Windy City.
