Carlos Zambrano reached a milestone in his last outing against the Cincinnati Reds, notching his 100th career victory. The Cubs ace didn’t show much emotion in postgame interviews, and even stated he’d retire after his current contract expires. Sorry Cub fans!
That said, he held the Reds scoreless through six 2/3rd innings of work, but still surrendered five walks. His WHIP has reached dangerous territory, 1.40, but he should better that number tonight against an Astros team ranked 23rd in the league in earning free passes.

10 Scorching MLB Takes 🌶️

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
“Big Z” has no-hit the Astros in his career and is 12-7 with a 2.68 ERA and 1.13 WHIP in 25 overall outings.
Wandy Rodriguez had gotten off to a tremendous start to his 2009 MLB campaign, but has since fallen upon some hard times. The southpaw’s been tagged for 18 runs and 29 hits, his L/3 outings of which he’s 0-3.
His home ERA skyrocketed to 2.31 his last time out against the Rockies, where he got lit up for 7 ER’s and 10 hits (4 HR) through just five innings of work.
He already beat the Cubs once this season, throwing six innings of one-run ball back on April 7th, and is 4-4 with a 4.39 ERA and 1.41 WHIP in 11 career starts.
Tough spot to fade the Astros, considering they got embarrassed last night, but “Big Z” has fared very well against this Houston line-up throughout his career, while Wandy comes into tonight’s start in terrible form.
The Cubbies' offense loves to hit in this ballpark, as it’s combined to score 6.4 RPG their L/9 trips to Minute Maid Park, and they’ve had the Astros number so far in ‘09.
