Arsenal Next Season: My Prediction, What Do You Think?
I am going to put my neck on the line here and predict that next season will be Arsenal's season. I think we will at least win one Trophy, whether it's the Premiership, Champions League, League or FA cup.
Now, I know it's just rumors but with the possible additions of Thomas Vermaelen and maybe Edin Dzeko, the squad is starting to take shape. With the addition of a central midfielder (and the sale of Adebayor), Arsenal will be in a perfect position to storm the PL and CL.
Now my options for Central Midfield is from the following: Felipe Melo, Gokhan Inler, Xabi Alonso, Blaise Matuidi, and Jeremy Toulalan. Frankly, I don't really have a preference, though possibly the Xabi Alonso—Cesc Fabregas, could be a more enticing prospect than the other prospects.

From last season, we see that maybe it's not steel that we need in the midfield, Flamini showed us that it's not always about muscle, I don't think I remember Flamini knocking many people off the ball 2007-08 season.
Flamini harried midfielders and attackers, he dispatched the ball to Cesc, and that's why we played so incredibly well in that season. Every Arsenal fan seems to be a bit shortsighted and forgets that just because of the displays exhibited this season where Denilson was knocked off the ball with ease and was the most fouled player in the league.
Like we have seen in the league this season, we've been at our worst when teams decide to press us, they push our defence back and force us to change our game. Well now it's time we turn the tables on them, like in the season of two years ago.
So, let's imagine we sign Alonso, this could be are team next season:
Almunia
Sagna, Vermaelen, Gallas, and Clichy
Fabregas, Alonso, and Nasri/Rosicky
RVP, Dzeko, and Arshavin
Now, I put it in a 4-3-3 because that would be the perfect formation for us to play, not because it's like Barcelona, but because it utilises all our players in their best positions.
I chose to put RVP on the right of a forward three, because he plays that way for the Dutch National Team and you see how well that works—Arshavin on the left of the three, because whilst it's not quite in the "Hole," he's still pretty much playing off the striker.
Now take a look at the midfield three Fabregas, Alonso, and Nasri/Rosicky.
All of these players are able to pass. They could be the ones that open up all those defences that choose to try and set up shop against us.
And in defence, I dropped Toure simply because for the last one and a half years since his return from the African Nations Cup, he has chosen to play oh so badly.
To me, this team will win the league and maybe the Champion's league.
