Total Team Wrestling Round 3: Internet Fan Report!

Jeff D GormanJun 5, 2009

I went downtown to see Total Team Wrestling last night. It was great to see a lot of familiar faces mixed with some new prospects.

Attendance was about 900.

I’m a fan of the Original ECW, so I’m backing Club Extreme for the TTW Cup. I bought a Sandman shirt and a pair of Rob Van Dam foam thumbs.

Club Extreme came into the night with 10 points, tied for second place with the Mexicools and Team Canada. Hardcore Holly’s Big Shots were on top with 15 points.

Tonight is Challenge Card Night. The eight winning teams will get the chance to challenge the eight losing teams on the next show. The winners can choose their opponents and stipulations.

Match 1

Prophecy Factor (Justin Credible, Danny Maff and BJ-J Whitmer) beat Too Cool (Brian Christopher, Scotty 2 Hotty and Ernest “The Cat” Miller)

I like Whitmer’s MMA gimmick, and got Scotty to tap out to a cross-arm breaker. The Cat looks like he’s not fitting in with Too Cool, as he was doing his James Brown dance in the corner while his teammates danced in the middle of the ring.

Match 2

The KISS Demon kept the Big Shots in first place with a win over Gangrel of Corino’s Kingdom. Demon won the match with the LOVE GUN~!

The Dead Pool then came out to the ring...not to fight, but to make a trade. Vampiro said Corino’s team had more vampires that he had.

So Vamp traded Berlyn, Bam Neely, and Jean-Pierre Laffitte to Corino’s Kingdom for Gangrel and Kevin Thorn.

Match 3

Paul London and John McChesney (Team Big League) beat Lance Storm and Johnny Devine (Team Canada).

London hit the Shooting Star Press on Devine, but McChesney stole the pin from his own partner. He then celebrated with Larry Sweeney and “Notorious” Shane Taylor while his teammates (London, Amazing Red, and Joey Mercury) got angry at him.

Match 4

Big Vito and Johnny the Bull (Full Blooded Italians) defeated Chuck Palumbo and Shawn Stasiak (Natural Born Thrillers).

Tony Mamaluke came out with a suitcase full of money during the match, touching off a brawl between the teams. Mamaluke managed to toss the briefcase to Palumbo, who turned on his own partner, Stasiak, to give the win to the FBI.

Johnny the Bull didn’t get to celebrate long, as the FBI knocked him out with several briefcase shots and threw him out of the building, like wrestling’s version of a Mafia hit.

So Palumbo has taken Johnny’s spot in the FBI, Mamaluke is now managing the FBI, and the Thrillers are down to three guys.

Match 5

Club Extreme was out and I got to high-five RVD! Awesome. It was RVD and Sabu (former ECW tag team champs, baby!) against Xavier and Monty Brown of the Congregation.

RVD pinned Xavier with the Five-Star Frog Splash, so Club Extreme is now tied for first!

After the bout, Monty Brown hit the POUNCE! on Sabu, putting him through a propped-up table in the corner.

At intermission, I bought an autographed team photo of Club Extreme (and a Mexicools headband...shhh, I like them too, don’t tell anyone).

Match 6

The Future Endeavors (Chris Harris & Tyson Tomko) beat The Mexicools (Juventud Guerrera & Psicosis) when Harris pinned Psicosis after the Catatonic.

Match 7

This was an eight-man tag team match between the last two scoreless teams. It was the JOB Squad (Al Snow, 2 Cold Scorpio, Blue Meanie, and Gillberg) vs. Filth and Fury (Teddy Hart, Matt Cross, Josh Prohibition and Blitzkrieg).

Gillberg pinned Josh after a spear.

“Who’s next?” Gillberg asked.

Teddy Hart answered the question by throwing him out of the ring and through the announcer’s table.

Match 8

Scott Hall and Fake Sting (nWo) beat Vampiro and Great Muta (Dead Pool). Muta thought it was the REAL Sting, so he tapped out immediately when he was caught in the Scorpion deathlock.

I thought the show was over, but then Jeff Gorman came to the ring to introduce the main event: a Free Agent Challenge match. Spike Dudley came out first.

Then Gorman left, and "Where Is My Mind?" by The Pixies started to play.

The cameraman who was filming Spike raised his hand, and a microphone came down from the ceiling into it. He took off his disguise, and it was MR. KENNEDY!

Well, everyone just went nuts.

Match 9

The bell rang, and Kennedy was all over Spike. The always-tough Dudley fought back and went for the Acid Drop, but Kennedy tossed him over the top rope, and Spike crashed head-first into the metal railing.

Kennedy announced himself as the winner by countout and he took out a Challenge Card of his own. He said he would face anyone in the wrestling world in an Ambulance Match on the next show to prove his durability.

On the following show, Kennedy said there will be an NBA-style lottery for his services.

Total Team Wrestling will be back in town one more time before the season ends. My buddies and I are going to dress as Club Extreme. I’m gonna be Sabu!
