Kansas City Chiefs: My Predictions for the 2009 Season

I'll just do a run through of the games and add notes:

Matt Cassel will win the QB competition, Dwayne Bowe will emerge as a top NFL receiver, Larry Johnson will have one last good season (been a while, huh?), and the Chiefs will have one of the top 5-10 offenses in the NFL.

Week One Chiefs at Ravens

The Chiefs offense will be overmatched by the Raven's crushing D and KC will lose a hard fought D battle.

Record: 0-1

Week Two Raiders at Chiefs

Our D will shine, matching the talented but inexperienced Oakland Offense, while KC's offense will come out living up to its true potential.

Record: 1-1

Week Three Chiefs at Philadelphia

Chiefs will have turbulence as Phili flies high rocking the Chiefs.

KC 3 PHI 21

Record 1-2

Week Four Giants at Chiefs

The Chiefs will pull an upset at home stunning the struggling Giants by three.

KC 14 NY 10 

Record 2-2

Week Five Cowboys at Chiefs 

KC will have their hands full with Cowboys, but after a long and grueling this Chiefs pull it out.

Score: 10-3

Week Six Chiefs at Washington

Chiefs Will win this O battle in the end matching the number of wins they had two years ago.

KC 24 WAS 21

Record 4-2

Week Seven Chargers at Chiefs

The overmatched Chiefs will be killed by the San Diego Chargers.

Week Nine At JAC

Jacksonville will be massacred by the Chiefs' tormenting O.

Week 10 At Oak

The Chiefs will sweep the Raiders. Nuff said.

Week 11 Pittsburgh 

The defending Super Bowl champs will come and here and not face a challenge, picking off KC bigtime.

Week 12 at SD

Kansas will show their weaknesses and be defeated by the home team.

Week 13 DENVER!!! (get your popcorn ready)

Kansas City will kill Denver while the 80,000 fans scream and cheer "Broncos Suck!! as they walk down the curved pathway down to the parking lot. I know this because last year I went to the win over the Broncos in '08.

Weeks 14 & 15

The Chiefs will be dealt back-to-back losses at home to the Bills and the Browns.

Week 16 at CIN

The Chiefs will defeat the weak Cincinnati away from arrowhead.

Week 17 at Broncos

The Chiefs need a win and a Charger loss to go to the playoffs, as the get 1 of 2 when they sweep Broncos and take 2nd in the division in front of third Raiders and fourth Broncos.
