Sean Marshall Embarrassed In HD
Sean Marshall laid a rotten egg on national televisionโand in HD, nonetheless.
It seems the lefty never has a working "out-pitch" in the first inning, which typically puts the Cubs in an early hole. This time, they found themselves trailing 5-0.
Iโll say it again, Marshall is best suited out of the bullpen!
Before Marshall recorded his second out, the Cubsโ streak of four-straight quality starts was over, and soon to follow was the two-game winning streak.
Whatโs more is watching this awful game follow the best win of the season on Saturday.
Put Marshall in the bullpen!
Two runs against Eric Milton is disappointing. In years past, the Cubs cleaned this guyโs clock while he pitched for Cincinnati.
Soto left four men on base, Scales failed to score a runner from third with one out and the pinch hitters combined to go 0-5.
Last year it felt like no deficit was too big for the Cubs to overcome. Different story this season. Sometimes it feels like Chicago needs a weekโs worth of games to score eight runs.
Lou should remove Soriano to rest his sore knee after falling behind 7-0 in the fifth. You canโt risk another leg injury with 'Fonsi.
Monday is a huge off-day for Alfonso. He plays well in Atlanta; itโs a hitterโs park, and you want him in the lineup as much as possible.
This was a bad ending to a good home stand. Now, itโs nine straight on the road. Cubs have to play better baseball. June 1 means itโs not early anymore!
