WWE TLC 2013 Card: Last-Minute Match Predictions for PPV Event

Daine PavloskiDec 14, 2013

WWE's December pay-per-view is just a day away and it brings with it a card stacked with intriguing matchups and strange matches.

On a card with two 3-on-1 handicap matches, a four-way tag team championship match and a TLC match set to unify the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships, anything can happen on Sunday as the WWE's best and brightest take the stage.

With TLC just around the corner, here are some last-minute predictions you can take to the bank...by way of ladder...and chairs...and tables...

Here's some predictions.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Fandango

1 of 7

Oh, the WWE lives of Dolph Ziggler and Fandango. Two extremely promising WWE Superstars that don't get the screen time they deserve. Dolph Ziggler is one of the best workers in the company who could sell to anyone and Fandango could easily be one of the biggest babyfaces in the WWE if given the opportunity.

These two will kick off the pay-per-view in WWE's free YouTube pre-show. Ziggler and Fandango could both use a "pay-per-view" victory, but, unfortunately for Fandango, Ziggler is just a tiny bit higher on the WWE food chain.

Nothing more to say on this one, not a lot going on aside from another random pre-show pairing.

PREDICTION: Dolph Ziggler gets the W in impressive fashion to tease all Ziggler fans in the WWE Universe once again.

Divas Championship: AJ vs. Natalya

2 of 7

AJ Lee will continue her long-standing Divas Championship run on Sunday as she takes on Natalya with the butterfly belt on the line.

There's not much to say on this one, WWE could spice it up a bit and add a stipulation like Tables or Chairs, something you don't see every day for Divas, but either way this one is pretty easy to decipher.

AJ has no reason to drop the strap, especially at a minor pay-per-view, and Natalya doesn't really have a compelling reason to win the title except for her allegiance to Total Divas. If anyone is going to push WWE's reality show with a title, it would have to be one of the Bella twins with their high-profile significant others.

PREDICTION: AJ Lee wins using her black widow finisher in the middle of the ring after WWE somehow makes this about Total Divas

Tag Team Championship: 4-Way Tag Madness

3 of 7

The Rhodes Brothers will put their tag titles on the line as they do battle with three other teams on Sunday. Cody and Goldy will take on Rybaxel, the Real Americans and the out-of-nowhere team of Rey Mysterio and Big Show.

Goldust and Cody finally get the opportunity to shine as the main act in a tag team title match with The Shield and the Wyatt Family preoccupied with their own matches. Expect this to be an opportunity for the Rhodes to show off a little bit to get things rolling in high gear again in the tag division.

The Real Americans are the only real competitors in the match, but it's not time for the brothers Rhodes to drop the straps yet, especially in multi-team madness.

PREDICTION: The Rhodes Bros take home a victory while setting up a future match with the Real Americans.

Daniel Bryan vs. the Wyatt Family

4 of 7

This is one of the most intriguing matchups on the card for Sunday. Daniel Bryan will take on the weird Wyatts in a 3-on-1 handicap match to settle their mini-feud.

This match could go two ways.

First way: Daniel Bryan overcomes the odds or gets outside help to beat the Wyatts and end their feud.

Second way: The Wyatts are simply too much for Bryan to handle on his own and beat him with the intention to brainwash him.

The likely outcome will be the first way. The most exciting and interesting outcome however, would be the second way and, thankfully for Bryan, his latest run to fame has made him one of the select few on the roster that can take a loss without looking too weak.

PREDICTION: Daniel Bryan loses and gets brainwashed by the Wyatt Family, leading to a match down the road with CM Punk as Punk tries to save his friend.

CM Punk vs. the Shield

5 of 7

Like D-Bry vs. the Wyatts, CM Punk against the Shield is rather intriguing. The Shield has been one of the most dominant entities in the WWE over the last year and CM Punk has been one of the most popular Superstars since the infamous "Summer of Punk" when he re-signed with the company.

This match could easily steal the show on Sunday and while the Wyatt match will be all about the Wyatt Family coming together and looking stronger, this match will be the opposite.

The Shield has had a great run, but they've shown a few cracks in their armor over the last few weeks as Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns have looked a little shaky in their communication and execution.

All four of these guys are top-tier performers, so the match itself can't be bad, but this one will be more about the story than anything.

PREDICTION: CM Punk steals a victory as tension between members of The Shield continues to grow, leading to an eventual rift between the three that will have to be settled in the ring.

Intercontinental Championship: Big E Langston vs. Damien Sandow

6 of 7

Big E Langston has the chance to continue his meteoric rise to WWE elite status on Sunday as he defends his Intercontinental Championship against Damien Sandow.

Sandow has started to look relevant again after a series of hardcore matches with Dolph Ziggler and even had a five-match winning streak going before he lost to Mark Henry by count out on SmackDown. Sandow is starting to slowly build himself back up after losing the Money in the Bank briefcase, making this match a can't-miss.

Unfortunately for Sandow, he's taking on Big E Langston, one of John Cena's personal favorites backstage, which means he's essentially untouchable. It's not like he doesn't deserve it. E is a freak. He's one of the most explosive, hard-hitting guys in the company and a perfect candidate to be WWE's first Intercontinental champ with unified titles.

PREDICTION: Big E Langston gets a big win over Damien Sandow, retaining his IC title at TLC.

Unification TLC Match: John Cena vs. Randy Orton

7 of 7

The big one.

World Heavyweight champion John Cena vs. WWE champ Randy Orton in a TLC match to unify the titles. While the WWE is trying to make it really look like the titles are going to be unified, I'm not convinced.

TLC seems like a strange candidate to hold such a ground-breaking match that is more fit for one of WWE's "big four" pay-per-views and the WWE has made a habit of drawing out storylines around the two main titles in recent history.

A braver man would predict one of the most talked about potential swerves on Sunday which involves Triple H somehow becoming the Undisputed champ to do what he truly thinks is "best for business," but, while I don't think it's impossible, it's tough to see Triple H competing on a semi-regular basis again, even if it is just on pay-per-views.

The result this writer expects is a little different.

PREDICTION: Randy Orton and John Cena win. WHAT?! You read it right. John Cena and Randy Orton both ascend the ladder in the closing seconds of the match. As they battle at the top of the ladder Cena gets his hands on the WWE title and Orton gets his on the World Heavyweight belt. As they scramble to grab belts, they both fall, Cena with the WWE title and Orton with the World Heavyweight title, essentially switching championships and saving the unification match for Royal Rumble.
