Delta Downs 2013 Results: Princess and Day's Winners, Payouts and Top Finishers
In one of the most exciting events of the day, Tepin made a late run in the waning stages of the race to steal the lead and beat Bahnah for the win in the 2013 Delta Downs Princess Stakes.
The GIII race had a purse of $500,000.
Despite a slow start, Tepin kept its cool and waited until the right moment to make the late pass and take the victory. Concave managed a third place finish, Synapse took home fourth and favorite Miss Behaviour rounded out the top five, but the action went far deeper than just the Princess Stakes, though.

It was Rise Up that stole the whole show by winning wire-to-wire in the $1 million Delta Downs Jackpot Stakes.
Starting with a great run out of the gate, Rise Up led the entire race and left no doubt that he was the class of the field. With the winner of the Jackpot Stakes usually going on to contend in the Triple Crown hunt, jockey Gerard Melancon and the entire team has to be excited about the future.
Casiguapo managed a respectable second-place finish in the day's biggest event and Rankhasprivileges rounded out the top three. Morning favorite Coastline finished eighth.

In the Louisiana Legacy Stakes race, it was Ide Be Cool that took the victory from the inside lane in a dominant wire-to-wire win.

The domination continued as Hip Four Sixtynine took home the top prize in the Sam’s Ton Stakes in one of the richest payouts of the day.

The weekend festivities at Delta Downs Racetrack made this one of the most exciting horse racing events of the year and a great way to end the 2013 thoroughbred season.
Hardcore and casual fans were treated to a plethora of interesting action on Saturday, and the prizes awarded made this one of the richest late-season events in the sport.
Next year’s races can’t come fast enough.
