Win: Coastline

Coastline doesn’t have as much experience as several other top contenders, but his two straight victories, including a win at the one-mile Street Sense Stakes, have set the stage for a big run at the Delta Downs Racetrack.

The Mark E. Casse-trained colt has blasted on the scene as one of the top horses, but has only raced in three events. With the two wins and a second-place finish in those races, there is a considerable amount of pressure on him.

Coastline is fortunate enough to start out of the No. 2 post as well. Jockey Shaun Bridgmohan will launch out of the gates using the horse’s elite acceleration and take the early lead. As long as the jockey can get his horse started fast, he will be able to steal the victory.

Place: Rum Point

The Delta Jackpot Stakes is one of the key races in the evolution of potential Triple Crown contenders, and the horse with the most upside is the Doug O'Neill-trained Rum Point.

At 5-1, these odds are the best value of the day.

The horse has all the speed and power to run to the front of the pack, but it must get help from his jockey Mario Gutierrez on Saturday. After getting left out to dry at the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Stakes, Rum Point needs a great run.

A fourth-place finish at the Breeders' Futurity in October had many fans excited about what the future holds for Rum Point. With a talented jockey in the saddle, bettors should expect the horse to place.

Show: Big Bazinga

At 12-1 odds, the bet with the most potential is Big Bazinga. This horse has a win and a hard-fought second-place finish in his career, including almost taking a win at the G3 Grey Stakes on a 1 1/16 mile course like the Delta Jackpot Stakes.

Add star-jockey Rosie Napravnik to the Big Bazinga team, and this is a horse that could steal the show.

Big Bazinga’s strength and top-end speed he showcased in his two previous events are enough to give bettors confidence. But the addition of a jockey that has raced in big situations makes this horse a safe bet to show and an educated risk to win.
