NFL Predictions Week 12: Road Warriors Guaranteed to Pick Up Huge Wins
Playing on the road in the NFL is no easy task, but the truly good teams find a way to get the job done in enemy territory. Many squads that are competing for a playoff spot will have an opportunity to do exactly that in Week 12, and there are several that figure to succeed.
Even though there are only six weeks remaining in the regular season, it's still very difficult to differentiate some teams from others. There is so much parity in the league right now that most of the betting lines are very close. That seems to suggest that road teams may have an advantage in Week 12.

Dallas Cowboys (+2.5 @ New York Giants)
When it comes to the Dallas Cowboys, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Dallas once again entered the season looking like one of the most talented teams in the league, and it once again finds itself with a .500 record.
The Cowboys simply can't find their way over the hump and are now in danger of missing the playoffs yet again, as they trail the Philadelphia Eagles by a half-game in the NFC East.
This week's game is an especially big one for the Cowboys because they will take on the division rival New York Giants on the road. Most observers left the G-Men for dead after their 0-6 start, but they are now 4-6 and in the thick of things in the NFC East.
These teams appear to be heading in different directions, and now that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has once again given head coach Jason Garrett a public vote of confidence, Cowboys fans can't help but feel like it's Groundhog Day.
At the same time, one has to believe that the Cowboys will reverse the curse at some point.
Aside from its loss to the New Orleans Saints two weeks ago, Dallas has been in each and every game this season. Also, it defeated the Giants 36-31 in Week 1.
New York's four-game winning streak is impressive, but none of the wins have come against great teams. The Giants are definitely vulnerable, and Tony Romo and co. will rise to the occasion.
Tennessee Titans (-1 @ Oakland Raiders)
It wasn't too long ago that the Tennessee Titans seemed poised to compete for a playoff spot in the AFC, and while they still aren't out of it due to the battle that is currently going on for the No. 6 spot, they have definitely fallen off in recent weeks.
Perhaps that has something to do with the fact that quarterback Jake Locker is out for the season. Even so, they very nearly came away with a huge win last week.
The Titans let a lead slip away against the Indianapolis Colts, so they are now 4-6 rather than 5-5. There were definitely some positives worth taking away from that game, though, including running back Chris Johnson's strong performance and the solid play of quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.
The Titans will face a surprising Oakland Raiders team in Week 12, but NFL.com's Albert Breer is reporting that undrafted rookie Matt McGloin will get the start under center.
McGloin played shockingly well last week by throwing for three touchdowns and leading Oakland to a win over the Houston Texans, but there is a reason why he was undrafted. McGloin has some definite deficiencies and Tennessee's defense is definitely good enough to take advantage of them.
It is never easy to travel west and win in the Black Hole, but the Titans simply have a better all-around team and more stability at the quarterback position.
Denver Broncos (-2.5 @ New England Patriots)
After handing the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss of the season in Week 11, the Denver Broncos seemed to establish themselves as the best team in the AFC. That reign could be shortlived, however, since they must travel to Foxboro, Mass. to take on the New England Patriots on Sunday.
The Pats clearly have some issues in terms of injuries on defense and a lack of rhythm on offense, but New England always seems to rise to the occasion.
Most of the talk regarding this matchup will focus on Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
Manning is well on his way to fifth NFL MVP award and has a real chance to break Brady's single-season passing touchdown record of 50.
Brady hasn't been at his best statistically, but he has had to deal with injuries on offense all year long. According to ESPN Stats & Info, this marquee quarterback matchup has occurred more than almost any other.
Brady has the advantage with nine wins to Manning's four, but Brady has often had the better all-around team. That is quite obviously not the case this season. Manning has an amazing supporting cast on offense and his defense seems to be rounding into form as well.
New England wants to wipe the bad taste that its loss to the Carolina Panthers on Monday left in its mouth, but Manning won't allow that to happen.
