WWE Survivor Series 2013: Most Intriguing Contests on Event Card
To say that the 2013 Survivor Series is lacking the excitement and anticipation that the 26 shows before it have had would be an understatement.
To say that it is uninteresting, however, would be doing a disservice to some well-crafted matches.
One of those matches has been built to for the better part of three months and has featured some of the best, most emotion-filled performances in one of the Superstars' long and illustrious careers, while another of those bouts features the hottest new act on television and two of the best wrestlers in the world.

Still, another features 14 different Divas, one of whom carries the top prize in the division and should be looking over her shoulder for potential contenders coveting the championship she calls her own.
Without further ado, here is a look at this Sunday's most intriguing matches.
WWE Championship Match: The Big Show vs. Randy Orton
The main event of Survivor Series is also the match with the most intrigue surrounding it heading into the show.
It was almost a given that interference would plague the match and cause some sort of controversial finish that resulted in a rematch in December. With Triple H's announcement on Raw, that no one would interfere in the bout nor would they help Orton in any way, what was already an intriguing bout became that much more interesting.
The desperation Orton has shown over the last two weeks, not to the mention the lack of sympathy shown to him by The Authority, The Shield and General Managers Brad Maddox and Vickie Guerrero, have positioned him as a lame duck champion that will have to rely on himself and his own abilities if he wishes to leave Boston with the WWE Championship intact.
The Big Show, on the other hand, picked up an impressive win over Ryback Monday night and once again got the better of Orton, taking him down with a huge spear. The WWE's resident giant has been as hot as he has ever been this fall, and he is riding a wave of momentum heading into Sunday's show.
Will Orton rise to the occasion and prove Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were justified in choosing him to be the face of the WWE by defeating Big Show on his own, without any help? Or will Big Show cap off the hottest main event run of his career with his latest heavyweight title reign?
Was Triple H's announcement regarding interference a red herring used to throw off the fans and Big Show, lulling them into a false sense of security before pulling the rug out from under them by aiding Orton to a successful title defense?
At the one show more responsible for shocking twists and turns and acts of betrayal, could it be revealed that The Authority has lost faith in their chosen one and has, instead, aligned with the World's Largest Athlete?
There are so many questions surrounding the match that intrigue for it is higher than in any other clash at Sunday night's annual November spectacular.
CM Punk and Daniel Bryan vs. The Wyatt Family
Luke Harper and Erick Rowan have grown significantly over the course of the last month, thanks to in-ring wars with the likes of the Rhodes brothers, the Usos, the Prime Time Players and both CM Punk and Daniel Bryan.
This Sunday, they will compete in the biggest match of either of their careers when they meet Punk and Bryan in a high-profile tag team bout.
The most intriguing aspect of the match will be Harper and Rowen's performance and whether or not they perform up to the moment they find themselves in.
It will be the first pay-per-view match for either of them and with Punk and Bryan as dance partners, there will be heightened expectations for an above average, potentially show-stealing match. That puts a great deal of pressure on Harper and Rowan to carry their end of the match and not do anything wrong that would actively lower the quality of the match.
They have improved steadily in recent weeks, but everyone reacts differently to pressure. How they react Sunday will undoubtedly have an impact on their push and whether it continues or not.
Whether the Wyatt Family can rise to the occasion, however, is only one part of the story.
The other part is whether or not it will be revealed who "the devil" was that instructed the Wyatt Family to target Punk and Bryan in the first place.
Was it Paul Heyman, Triple H or Mr. McMahon? Perhaps it was Kane, who returned to the company at Hell in a Cell and never really explained where he was, what happened to him or why he was not actively attempting avenging his abduction at the hands of the Wyatt Family at SummerSlam in August.
It is an element of the rivalry that fans remain interested in, even if it has not been eluded to in recent weeks.
14-Diva Tag Team Elimination Match
Anytime 14 Divas are involved in the same match, chaos is sure to abound.
The fact that Divas champion AJ Lee is involved in the matches makes the chaos that much more likely, as well as intriguing.
First, there is the story of the Total Divas cast that has had problems with AJ dating back to August. After months of verbal abuse at the hands of the current champion, it would seem like the most opportune time to get revenge.
Second, AJ 's sordid past and an inability to play nice with others may doom her team. This past summer, she was engaged in a heated rivalry with former partner and friend Kaitlyn, who just so happens to be part of Team AJ this Sunday night.
If Summer Rae is anything like the cunning, manipulative character she plays on NXT, it should be interesting to see if she is concerned with helping her team to victory or if she will sabotage the team and AJ to earn herself a shot at the Divas title in the near future.
There are plenty of potential outcomes, but the most intriguing scenario sees the company introducing a new rivalry and potential No. 1 contender to the Divas title, rather than simply allowing the Total Divas cast to dance and be happy afterward.
Could that new contender be from the opposition, or will she come from AJ's very own team?
The latter would be great, largely since the potential matches stemming from that scenario would, at the very least, be interesting.
Unfortunately, with the recent announcement that the Divas reality show had been renewed for season two, the likelihood of anything but the cast members celebrating to end the match is extremely low.
