Forza Motorsport 5: Release Date and Top Features For Xbox One Exclusive

For video game fans who find Gran Turismo too technical and bland but don't want a complete arcade racer like Need for Speed, the Forza Motorsport series has always been a happy medium. The racing is technical, but you don't have to be bogged down with automotive jargon to appreciate it.

The newest edition to the series is ready to release on Friday, Nov. 22, when the Xbox One launches. It packs a bevy of new features designed to flex the console's muscle.

Quite obviously, graphics are a major deal in this one. The game has looked great for years, but gamers can expect one of—if not the—the most visually impressive racers ever created.

From the sound of the details, the appeal goes beyond looks.

Drivatars

One of the standout features is the use of Drivatars. It is a deep and complex system, but in a nutshell it tracks your driving data in specific situations and in each vehicle type and then creates a clone of you as a driver.

You can use this clone to compete in races during your career mode or even online against other opponents. If the results are as accurate as they appear, the concept will revolutionize the simulation options in racing games.

Likewise, gamers can always find human or human-like opponents to race online using other gamers' Drivatars. All this information is stored in the cloud. The additional storage space is going to be the most important aspect of the next generation of gaming.

Individualizing your vehicle is a must in any racing game, and Forza seems to understand that. Again, the power of the cloud stores the data of the cars and paint schemes you like. Subsequently, you are directed toward the vehicles that match your preferences.

Several options are available, but this helps to narrow things down a bit.

Varied Career Modes

Forza features a great number of cars in a variety of categories. In career modes, you can control these vehicles in class-specific challenges that will create a diverse experience and increase the longevity of the game.
