Mark Ingram's Instant Fantasy Reaction After Week 10
Fantasy addicts know to steer far and away from New Orleans when in pursuit of traditional running backs.
Consistent production simply does not happen.
Well, third-year back Mark Ingram proved all of us wrong and has caused owners to re-evaluate the situation in New Orleans thanks to his 145 yards and a touchdown on just 14 carries against Dallas on Sunday Night Football. He also had two catches for 15 yards.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
As SportsCenter illustrates, it was Ingram's first 100-yard day of his young career:
"Mark Ingram has 14 carries, 145 yards. It's the first 100-yard game of former Heisman winner's career, 54 more yards than previous high.
— SportsCenter (@SportsCenter) November 11, 2013"
Want further proof this was a major anomaly? Jeff Duncan of The Times-Picayune puts it in an apt manner:
"Mark Ingram is the first Saints RB to top 100 yards since Week 2 of last season, snapping an NFL-high 22-game drought w/o a 100-yard rusher.
— Jeff Duncan (@JeffDuncan_) November 11, 2013"
Not only has Ingram never been effective as an odd fit in New Orleans (it's a passing attack best fit for backs like Darren Sproles), but no back for the Saints has produced relevant traditional yardage on the ground in over a season.
So it's not unreasonable to not expect this again all year. After all, Ingram did his damage against a Dallas defense that ranked in the second half of the league against the rush and second-to-last against the pass coming into the game.
Ingram is worth a grab in all leagues on the chance this continues, but to expect it would be the definition of foolish. He's not worth a start in the deepest of leagues considering he has to compete with Sproles, Pierre Thomas and Khiry Robinson for snaps.
Add Ingram, just don't do anything with him—yet.
