OVER 10 Detroit/Colorado:
The first place Tigers offense has been on fire of late, and today should be no exception as they finish off a series at home against the Rockies. Lefty Dontrelle Willis, on the comeback trail after missing the first six weeks with anxiety disorder. Willis was awful in his first start, and terrific in his second. We don’t think he’s all the way back, and it should be a few starts before we are confident that he’s his old self again. Former Tampa Bay Ray Jason Hammel gets the nod for the Rockies. Hammel has been ok in his few starts as a Rockie. He allowed 3 runs in 6 innings in an 8-1 loss to Atlanta on May 19. Hammel has never found his consistency, but hasn’t been awful overall, just a middle of the rotation type. We see this one as a high scoring affair to wrap up the first weekend of interleague play.

Tampa Bay -110 over Florida:
The Marlins are really struglling right now. After their 11-1 start they’ve lost 24 of 32 to fall 5.5 games behind the Mets in the NL East. Offensively, they’ve just completely hit the skids. Their pitching has been ok, and today’s starter, Josh Johnson has been effective all year. Johnson leads the staff with a 2.54 ERA, but is only 3-1 on the year. Tampa Bay is rollin and looks to be regaining their form from last year when they won the American League pennant. James Shields (3.4, 3.43 ERA) will get the start today. Shields is coming off his best effort of the season, when he went 8 1/3 of scoreless ball against Oakland last Tuesday. Expect the Rays to keep rolling and finish off the sweep this afternoon.
