WWE Has Destroyed and Wasted Big Show's Greatest Talents as a Performer
It pains me to see giants booked as babyfaces.
It pains me even more to see giants booked as babyfaces to be filler. That's what Big Show is.
He's being booked as the top babyface. In the eyes of management, he's the top babyface. Pay no attention to him having to use the crowd chant of another babyface.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
We'll take John Cena out of the equation since he's on a world heavyweight championship relevant rehab assignment. Daniel Bryan and CM Punk are the top two babyfaces. They get the biggest reactions. They have the most to offer. They are the perfect size to be sympathetic and get pushed around by “The Authority.”
I understand WWE books to the most casual fan. I understand the business decision to have big guys. I also understand you can figure out who the stars are by listening to the crowd.
That being said, I am actually excited for Punk and Bryan's program with Bray Wyatt. I also don't think we've seen the last of either in the WWE title picture.
One guy who has been in the WWE title picture all too many times in his career with no credibility is Big Show. A guy of his size should be instant credibility, but that has been shrunk down to El Torito size. Largest athlete in the world with worst track record in WWE title matches.
Big Show is an entertainment gift. WWE is still a circus with a variety of must see elements. WWE has ruined and wasted Big Show's gift by repeatedly making him vulnerable.
When he was WWE's version of the ECW Champion, he was booked his best. A monster with a menacing mouthpiece in Paul Heyman. The most simple and original formula. He's the biggest dude with the most obnoxious manager so come try to beat them.
WWE has built a good machine for a babyface to conquer. Triple H, Stephanie, The Shield, Korporate Kane and champion Randy Orton are an impressive faction to take down. Dismissing any hope from the guy people care about the most and the numbers game beating down the biggest guy on the roster...now what?
And speaking of the roster, where were they when Big Show was getting beat up? Doesn't Bryan still dislike Triple H and company? What about Cody and Goldust? They weren't being held captive on the stage and being told not to come down.
The roster is nowhere to be found. Big Show is using Bryan's catchphrases. All of the sudden the board of directors feels what is going on isn't fair and are a factor. Why wasn't it unfair when Bryan was getting treated the way he was? Because he isn't “poor” in the storyline or because he's the “B-plus player.”
It's all very confusing.
The issue in the storyline is between Big Show and Triple H. He'll have to go through Orton before he gets a match with Triple H. However, Big Show is not going to win against Orton but he will still get a match against Triple H in December. It makes no sense but it's nothing new in WWE's recent logic.
The situation was the same with Bryan. His feud really wasn't with Orton, it was with Triple H. Bryan's apparently done with WWE title matches for the time being against Orton. I'm excited about Bryan's feud with Wyatt but the logical thing would have been for Bryan to continue his rivalry with Triple H leading to a match. There was absolutely no payoff or finale to their two-month issue...like it never happened.
But WWE wants to forget it all happened. Lower the number of SummerSlam buys and guys like Bryan are too small. This triggers their philosophy and goal to get larger-than-life guys back in the main event.
If Survivor Series does poor numbers, whom will they blame then?
