Seattle Seahawks vs. Atlanta Falcons: Spread Analysis and Pick Prediction

OddsShark.comJun 5, 2018

The Atlanta Falcons have beaten the Seattle Seahawks the last four times they've played, including in the NFC playoffs last January.

The Seahawks get a shot at revenge when they make a return trip to the Georgia Dome on Sunday.

Point spread:
Seahawks opened as 4-point favorites but were quickly bet to -7 road chalk; the total was 44.5. (Line updates, live odds and matchup report)

OddsShark.com computer says: 29.7-16.3 Seahawks

Why the Seahawks can cover the spread

Seattle just rallied from down 21-0 to beat Tampa in overtime last Sunday; something gives us the feeling the Seahawks won't trail by three touchdowns at any time in this game. Seattle ranks fifth in the league in rushing, second in defense and second vs. the pass. That defense now gets to go up against an Atlanta offense that's struggling mightily without its top two wide receivers.

Why the Falcons can cover the spread

Atlanta is just 2-6 both SU and ATS this season, but it was right in last week's game at Carolina, down by just one score going into the fourth quarter. Of the Falcons' six losses, four have come by one score or less. And Atlanta managed to rack up well over 400 yards of offense in that divisional-round playoff victory over the Seahawks last January.

They have beaten Seattle four straight, and the Seahawks have looked very beatable the past two weeks.

Smart Pick

OddsShark.com's computer is predicting a Seattle victory and cover, and for this game to go OVER on the total. The Seahawks own the best record in the NFC; the Falcons, meanwhile, are just not the same team right now as the one that got to the conference championship game last year.

And Seattle is a solid road outfit, going 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS this year on the room-service circuit. Give the points, and go with the 'Hawks.

Trends:

Seahawks lost four in a row to Atlanta, each game played OVER

Falcons 1-5 ATS past six vs NFC West teams

Seahawks 5-1 ATS past six vs NFC South teams
