Top Matches
Borussia Dortmund vs. Arsenal
While Arsenal have been dealing with injury issues all season, things have gotten worse, as Jack Wilshere and Kieran Gibbs are unlikely to play, according to ESPN.
Fortunately, the team has plenty of offense to help overcome the loss of Wilshere. Mesut Ozil has done a good job of distributing the ball to teammates, while Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud have been exceptional at finishing around the net.
The question is whether the Gunners can keep Borussia Dortmund off the scoresheet. Robert Lewandowski has proved to be one of the top goalscorers in the world, and he crushed Arsenal with a game-winner in the 82nd minute the last time these sides met.
With Lewandowski, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Marco Reus and others helping out the attack, Dortmund should outscore their opponent at home to take charge in the group table.
Barcelona vs. AC Milan
AC Milan scored a draw against Barcelona when these teams faced each other on Oct. 26. If they can earn points in this match, the club will be in great shape to advance to the knockout stage.
Of course, it will be a challenge to hold this loaded offense to one goal again. Lionel Messi was responsible for the lone score last match, but you can expect guys like Alexis Sanchez and Pedro to help him out in this one.
Also, Neymar is beginning to gain a connection with his new teammates and has become more of a scoring threat recently.
Playing at Camp Nou, Barca will do a better job of getting the ball on net, and they should be able to secure a much-needed victory.
Stars to Watch
Robert Lewandowski, Borussia Dortmund
While there are more famous goalscorers in Europe—specifically, Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo—Lewandowski continues to show an ability to get onto the scoresheet against elite opponents.
The Polish star put his name on the map with four goals against Real Madrid in last year's UCL semifinals, and he has kept that up with three goals in three matches this year. He also currently leads Bundesliga with nine goals.
He must be marked by the defense at all times, or he will make them pay.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paris Saint-Germain
Paris Saint-Germain have spent a bunch of money bringing in top talent over the past few seasons, but there might not have been a better purchase than Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Although the veteran is getting up there in age at 32 years old, he still has a knack for firing highlight-reel goals at any time. This week, he faces Anderlecht for a second time, having scored four goals against them his last time out.
Ibrahimovic is certain to have another strong showing as he and Edinson Cavani help PSG earn an easy victory.
Franck Ribery, Bayern Munich
No one in the world does more on the attack to help his team win than Franck Ribery.
His impressive play led Bayern Munich to last year's European title, and it has helped him become the odds-on favorite to win the 2013 Ballon d'Or, according to SkyBet.
Bayern should control the ball throughout most of the match against Viktoria Plzen, and it would not be surprising to see Ribery claim a couple of goals or assists Tuesday.
