Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys take on a lackluster Minnesota Vikings team at home this Sunday, and this matchup has the potential to be the biggest blowout of the day.
Minnesota is futile in every facet of the game expect running the ball. While powerful back Adrian Peterson can hide many of the Vikings’ biggest issues, the fact that Christian Ponder was taking snaps with the first team this week, per Chip Scoggins of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, is great news for a Dallas defense ready to stack the box.
The Cowboys may not possess an overly impressive defensive unit, but the offense has been stellar. With Minnesota proving it can’t stop the pass or the run, quarterback Tony Romo and likely returnee DeMarco Murray, via Charean Williams of the Fort-Worth Telegraph, will put up huge numbers.
Expect a lopsided beatdown.
Predicted Final Score: Dallas 45, Minnesota 20
New Orleans Saints
Led by Drew Brees and the league’s third-ranked pass offense (averaging 310.7 yards per game), the New Orleans Saints will travel to MetLife Stadium to square off with a New York Jets team coming off a devastating 49-9 loss.
The Saints are coming off a huge win over the Buffalo Bills, and with the Rob Ryan-led defensive unit stepping up big for New Orleans, the Jets’ struggling offensive unit will have trouble finding any rhythm on Sunday.
New York has been stout against the run—ranked No. 1 in the league and allowing just 77.9 yards per game—but with a 15th-ranked pass defense, Brees and his vast arsenal of weapons will exploit the secondary and put up big numbers.
Predicted Final Score: New Orleans 40, New York 20
Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks were barely able to pull out a tight 14-9 win over the St. Louis Rams last week, but a matchup against the lowly Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Seattle this Sunday will result in a monster game for the home team.
Tampa Bay has yet to win a game this season (0-7). Add in the fact that the team will be traveling to one of the loudest stadiums in the league, and the Buccaneers offense led by rookie quarterback Mike Glennon will falter against the Seahawks' stellar defense.
Seattle must improve the consistency of the pass attack, but with quarterback Russell Wilson and running back Marshawn Lynch dominating the ground game (fourth in the NFL), the team will cruise to an easy win on Sunday.
Predicted Final Score: Seattle 37, Tampa Bay 19
