Tottenham Hotspur booked their place in the last eight of the League Cup after a thrilling clash with Hull City at White Hart Lane.
A stunning first-half strike from Gylfie Sigurdsson gave Spurs the lead at the break, but the visitors refused to lie down and equalised thanks to an uncharacteristic mistake from goalkeeper Brad Friedel.
Steve Bruce's men then went in front in extra time through Paul McShane's powerful header, but they passed up a great chance to wrap things up through Gedo and seconds later Harry Kane levelled things up.
The tie went to penalties, and with the shoot-out finely balanced at 7-7, Friedel made amends for his earlier error by saving Ahmed Elmohamady's spot kick to send his side through to the quarter finals.
