Diamondbacks—Oakland: Arizona Fight Back to Extend Streak
These are the new Arizona Diamondbacks.
Eight games into this road trip, the Dbacks are now 6-2 and easily could be 8-0. Tonight in Oakland they won again by fighting back after being down. Down 5-1 in the eighth inning, the Dbacks came up with four big runs to tie the game and eventually come away with a big 8-7 win in 11 innings over the Oakland A’s.
After Justin Upton was taken down to the ground by A’s pitcher Santiago Casilla on a huge brush back pitch, things turned for the better, as Upton started a three run rally that closer Chad Qualls and the Dbacks were barley able to hold on to.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
It was a little too close to call in the bottom of the 11th, however the Dbacks were able to hold the A’s off.
It is nice to finally see some fight in this team. There are still cracks in the team that need to be fixed—many cracks. Chris Young, after going 2-3 with a home run on Friday night, went 0-5 with two strikeouts this evening. The tough, tough season continues for him. He really needs to get somewhere where he can get himself back on track. Somewhere like Reno. Sitting him on the bench in Arizona does him no good.
Dan Haren didn’t have his best stuff tonight. He gave up four home runs. However, he battled and still showed fight. It is a little disappointing that he didn’t pitch better against his former team, but he ate up some innings to save the bullpen. Players are starting to pick each other up. You saw that in the 11th after Upton got knocked to the ground, Stephen Drew and Mark Reynolds picked him up with clutch RBI hits.
One more game tomorrow in Oakland and then it is back home for a seven games starting Monday starting with the San Diego Padres. Let it roll boys, let it roll.
