Can Andre Ethier Hit Without Manny Ramirez in the Lineup?

Once a year, I plan a trip to Colorado to go see my favorite team, the Dodgers. When you live in Albuquerque, the closest ball parks are Coors Field in Denver and Chase Field in Phoenix. I like to go to Coors field because you can get good seats for a good price. I collect autographs of Dodger players and Coors field is a great place to get something signed. 

It was about one year ago at Coors Field, when I had a photo of Andre Ethier I wanted him to sign. When I asked him if he would sign my photo of him, he told me "I don't sign photos." I thought he must be having a bad day and I didn't let it bother me. 

The Dodgers had a photo day where the players take photos with the fans. Andre wouldn't take photos with any fans; he just let you take a picture of him, by himself. He later told Diamond Leung of the Press-Enterprise, “It’s all the blog things,” he said. “The Dirty (of Matt Leinart fame). The sports ones. You could be at dinner having a beer, and it could be, ‘He was drinking at 2 in the morning." “In the profession you’re in, it’s more likely to happen to us than regular people.” That's cool, I respect that. I don't think he is of that status, but it is his right. As long as he was doing good work for the Dodgers, I didn't mind his diva mentality.

Since Mann's suspension, Andre has been six for 44. He has hit eleven double plays and as I am writing, this he has stuck out looking twice tonight. Does this mean that Andre can only hit when Manny is hitting in front of him? I think Andre has a lot of talent, but he is his own worst enemy. He needs to humble himself. Now is his chance to prove to the fans that he can hit, with or without Manny in the lineup. The rest of the team has proven that they can hit with or with out Manny.
