Clayton Kershaw Takes No-Hitter into the Eighth

Twenty-one-year-old Clayton Kershaw had a no hitter going into the eighth inning Sunday against the Marlins. The no hitter was broken up by the former Dodger from Carlsbad New Mexico Cody Ross. Kershaw threw 112 pitches 66 for strikes. When he can get his curve ball over for a strike he dominates.

Jaun Pierre continues to have a hot bat. Pierre was 3 for 5 with three RBI's. The Dodgers bench was also big in today's game. The bench has ipmressed me a whole lot. The bench (not everyday players) were 6 for 16 today with Jaun Castro hit a home run for the Dodgers.

The Dodgers go back home to play the Mets in a three game series. Randy Wolf will pitch for the Dodgers tomorrow.

Eric Stults
Sprained his left thumb fielding a bunt Friday and was unable to throw on Sunday. Stults told MLB.com "I'll try to throw tomorrow," Stults said before Sunday's Dodgers-Marlins game. "It's better today than yesterday. I think I'll be OK for Wednesday, but I'll know tomorrow."
Dodgers Manager Joe Torre told MLB.com Jeff Weaver will start if Stults can't.

Xavier Paul
Hit his first big league home run on Friday night. What is cool about that is he met the fan who caught the ball and traded him the ball for a new ball and a signed bat. Paul says he plans to give the ball to his parents.

Isotopes 3 Grizzles 6

The Isotopes are at .500 and still in first place even with a lose in Fresno. Jamie Hoffman hit his first home run as an Isotope. Charley Heager (the Knuckle Baller) pitched eight innings gave up six hits one earned run and six strike outs.

Heager was in line for the win but the Grizzles scored four runs in the ninth to get the win. The Grizzles Matt Downs hit a three run walk off home run to end the game.
